I find fundamentalists and militant athiests equally annoying.
I guess what matters is, I’ve found a way to feel morally superior to both.

I guess what matters is, you’ve found a way to quote xkcd. I remember the forum topic for that strip, it was hilarious. It was 40 pages long -- most strip threads get 2-3 pages.

I was hoping someone would link to xkcd.

That would be because, at the heart of it, both of them are the same; both are hardwired into their belief system, and refuse to listen to anything that might suggest a flaw with it. Fact is, God may or may not exist, and noone is able to prove one way or another.

I find it hard to be “hardwired” into atheism that same way people can be “hardwired” into Christianity or any other major religion. Atheism is a way too small minority in most countries to have the same influence. To me, this particular kind of “militant atheism” has more to do with teenage “rebellion” than anything else. In that way, teenagers can be “hardwired” into anything… such as My Little Pony, for example.

‘In this moment, I am morally superior. Not because of any annoying fundamental or militant lifestyle. But because, I am enlightened by my morality.’

I remember the time I post my argument based on my morality at some forum, and they all thought I’m just another religious bigot
