I really don’t see why there’s sucha huge outcry over his comments. Sure they’re anti-homosexual, but he wasn’t saying things like “kill all homos” or “gays burn in hell” which is what organizations like Westboro baptist church say. He doesn’t say anything condemning gays other than it’s a sin (which is virtually stated in the bible anyway as an “abomination”) and that they’re deceiving themselves. He also says he just doesn’t understand why homosexuals prefer what they prefer (he’s basically just curious). All things considered, he wasn’t being that much of a dick.

I having nothing for or against LGBT kind of stuff; it doesn’t matter to me, but I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill. There are lots of people out there who’ve said much worse about homosexuals and done much worse (cyberbullying to the point of making the victims commit suicide, physical violence, etc).

While some people are twisting this into their own agenda of Pro-LGBT or Biblical Defense-Call, I believe that many are upset because A&E signed on Duck Dynasty knowing that they (Duck Dynasty) were strong in their beliefs. Even though they previously wanted DD to not pray and do a handful of other things, DD said they would not be on the network unless they could pray.

Many believe this was A&E’s warning that they would uphold the Bible to it’s fullest.

Well they are doing quite well minus the tv contract and the majority of most comments ive seen about this whole debacle is siding wiht the family, i doubt sales of their products will be impacted much. and since the family is basically on strike until Phil comes back, i wouldnt be suprised if they go with a different network

Right now, the issue for me is all the talking heads on Faux News complaining about “free speech”. The go on and on about The First Amendment to the point where it’s clear they have no fucking idea what it really means.
The First Amendment protects your right from the government. A&E (Arts & Entertainment Network, can you feel the irony) isn’t the government. A&E in an private media network. If A&E doesn’t like someone they said, they have every right to let them go.

The Bible never said homosexuality is a sin or an abomination, this is just some biased bullshit made up by the Church to fill their hatred agenda.
Also, I love people’s logic when something like this happens, they defend the people that stated anti-homosexual comments, saying that “it’s freedom of speech” (witch I agree), but flip out when the homosexual community starts criticizing this person.
But I agree that people are overreacting to this, people around the world say and/or do much worse things to homosexuals and nobody says anything about that.

uhhhh….Leviticus 18:22 specifically states that it’s an abomination. Granted, it would depend on the bible you’re referring to (King James bible says “abomination” while the New International Version says it’s “detestable”, but the bible clearly condemns homosexuality (though not the individual).

Also, I don’t think it’s fair to drop the label of “hatred agenda” on Christianity (unless by “the Church” you were referring to Westboro). That would be like saying Islam is a religion of pure hatred since a few radical fundamentalists do suicide bombings on civilians.

Finally, concerning your remarks about “people’s logic”, you need to realize that it’s a two way street. There are those who make anti-homo comments and those who make pro-homo comments. Both sides get defended, and both sides get criticized. Now THAT is the first amendment at work, IMHO.

Just because he didn’t say that we should kill gay people doesn’t mean that people will accept his comment. He compared homosexuality with bestiality and basically called them evil.

It’s a bit more hateful than f.×. saying that marriage is only between a man and a woman.
And why are everyone forgetting what he said about black people?
He said that they were better off and more happy being second class citizens.

If you’re going off of Leviticus, remember all of the other things you are going to be following such as (but not limited to): Not eating rabbits, not eating shellfish, bathing after every ejaculation for being unclean, not wearing clothing of more than one material, stoning to death anyone that blasphemes against the name of the Lord, and of course not knowing about what the bible says.
This has been a Public Service Announcement from the “Don’t count on Leviticus Association”, Good day

I’m just saying that Lucas Mota was completely wrong when he said “The Bible never said homosexuality is a sin or an abomination, this is just some biased bullshit made up by the Church to fill their hatred agenda.”

Whether or not the old testament is still relevant to this day and age/modern culture is a whole other discussion.
