Well with retail sized downloads most people won’t be able to download them because of there internet connection’s too slow.
They might get to 300-500MB then it times out on them.

Lets some the average ADSL2 user tries to download something first try it times out at 400MB
Second attemp salls at 370MB then third attempt lets say at 573MB.
That’s nearly a gamecubes worth of download allowance wasted as every time you lose connection to the server as you should know you lose the download & have to restart from the very beginning.

someone may be lucky & get to downloaf a full Gamecube game if they lucky but relly it’s just wishful thinking meaning that really if they can’t really able to download a Gamecube game then they have no hope in hell to doanload a Wii U game at all.

Um… You’re acting like the Wii U titles for download was hypothetical. They’ve had all of their games for download since day one. The other consoles have at least a large portion of their games for download, too, and Steam is all about it. I personally haven’t ever bought a disc for my Wii U, and haven’t gotten a new PS3, PC, or 3DS game physically in over a year.

Maybe you couldn’t download one, but offering GameCube or newer games for download has been the norm for years. It would be awfully strange if they didn’t have them due to file size issues.

I’m not talking about whether the console or not can handle it & I’m aware that retail games are offered digitally but I’m talking about the average internet connection gamers have.
While you & I may be lucky enouth to have cable yet most people which including gamers don’t have the luxury of cable only a form of DSL average within the ADSL2 or simular speed wise in terms of games meaning that it’s not the console that can’t handle it’s the internet.

While most company’s mention how we mostly moved on from Dial-up & we all live in the age of broadband yet a broadband connection doesn’t automatic means you internet connection is fast enough to download retail sized games it’s only means that your internet connection only mildly faster than dial-up.
Plus it also means that you don’t need to hog the phone line.

Here in Australia there’s not much options for cable.
Most ISP only have a small infrastructure, if that for cable connections.
