I would beware of the Grammar Nazi tactic; I tried that before, but I’m not entirely sure it works on trolls. Trolls tend to not have intelligence, so I felt that the grammar corrections were being ignored…

But yes, the fruit salad defense may (likely will) get old. Which is unfortunate.
