You have to get your nick registered.

Currently we just give it to you. But if you register your nick (you can check if a nick is registered or not), Don can give you auto-OP. The next time you log in you have to type your password (or make that auto as well) and ChanServ will automatically give you OP status. I have both auto, which makes it so I get OP the second I join.

Enough people on the IRC can help you get a nick registered.
