Well, Lost Winds is a rather high quality game; the graphics, game play, and soundtrack are all fantastically done and very top tier for a casual game. However, you can pick it up for four bucks (don’t know what the currency rate is of dollars where you live) in the iTunes store. This was something we had discussed in my video game class: console companies are feeling threatened by smart phones, because you can make high quality games and sell them for a couple of dollars and still make a profit rather than having to sell them for sixty at a store. Retailers are also worried, because if console companies transition into selling their games directly to the gamer through digital distribution, that puts retailers out of business. In both cases, Lost Winds and its sequel are great examples of this source of worry.
