To get to the point, there’s still some negative connotation arising from being a female brony (hate the word pegasister so much). We do get a slight advantage, since traditionally it has been acceptable for girls to be innocent, cute, and childish, but liking something like My Little Pony is still somewhat detrimental to your social status, at least initially. The typical reaction I get to being a brony is a weird look, and something along the lines of “that’s cute, but isn’t that for little girls?” It’s more amusement than disapproval, which is what I’m assuming male bronies get. It’s still a little awkward, which I why I dislike bringing it up, but arguably much less so than being a guy.
And as you can tell from my posts in Poni General, within the fandom, female bronies do the same thing as their male counterparts; that is, art, discussion, analysis, music, etc.
I hope you found my heightened prose to be enlightening as I found it to be.
