Between 269 days (.74 years) for an orca (56 km/s) to reach the moon at perigee (362,570 km), and 1814 days (4.97 years) for a right whale (9.3 km/s) to reach the moon at apogee (405,410 km).

I was going to make a joke about a sperm whale being harpooned by a Japanese satellite, but I discovered that Japan actually has no satellites in geosynchronous orbit. Seriously, that’s fucking weird for a first world nation to have absolutely no satellites of that class. Oh well.
