Very good lesson on the measures of central tendency.
In the case of KYM, we do have a few users who are in their 40’s, but there aren’t any who are 2 or 3 years of age that will balance out the older users’ age values. When the curve of ages isn’t normally distributed, using the median is a better measure than the arithmetic mean.
If you learned that in an AP class, then you’re pretty far ahead an average American (and even a lot of college and graduate students.)
