I wanted to be a sports anchor (still do) ever since I could remember, so I can’t even fake a southern accent. People either think I’m from California or the Midwest, which is somewhat accurate, because the Midwestern accent (or a derivative) is what is desired for most on-air speakers. You’d have to have an amazing voice to be on-air on a national level, and my voice isn’t legendary.
(Although you can imagine how awkward I felt when someone said they though I was God during a performance where I was speaking off-stage.)
