Woohoo! All fellow Canadians get in here!

We’ll celebrate by drinking milk out of bags!

Come on Canucks! Show your Canadian pride!

    Little cartons.

But I lived up in Duluth MN in 8th and 9th grades and our milk came in bags. It took me forever to figure out how to do it. Puncturing a plastic milk-bag with a straw and drinking from it was pretty complicated.

My friend used to always have bagged milk, and I have no idea where he got it, because I’ve never seen any in a store.

While we’re on the topic of regional differences in food packaging:

I always thought Miss Vickie’s Potato Chips were Canadian because I was always familiar with seeing both English and French on bags.

That is until I spent some time in Southern states and started seeing Miss Vickie’s with only English on the packaging. That’s when it occurred to me that Miss Vickie’s must consider Minnesota part of Canada; which is actually the response I got while living in both CO and GA.

    “Minnesota? That’s like…Canada.”

Yeah there was. They went to St. Cloud, which is where I lived from about 2000-2002, then again 2004-2007. My dad lives there. It’s not a bad little town of about 100,000 people. It’s not as bad as it was portrayed on How I Met Your Mother, but I had to laugh that the only two things that happened while they were there was that one was arrested for public urination and they went to a strip club. It was very fitting.

Also, Stephen Sommers (The Mummy) was from St. Cloud, and shot his first film there. 1989’s Catch Me if You Can involves St. Cloud’s high schools. I went to Apollo, the big rival in the movie.
