I’ve always thought this site needs more classical music, so I’ve made a thread where we post our favorites. Please restrict your choices to orchestral music, no rock, hip hop, etc. And let’s keep it serious, please.

I’ll start with some of my favorites. If it means anything, I’m a marching band drum major, so I consider myself to have pretty good taste.

1. Jupiter, from the Planets – Gustav Holst

2. Ride of the Valkyries, from Tannhauser – Richard Wagner

3. Russian Christmas Music – Alfred Reed

Although Trans-Siberian Orchestra isn’t pure classical, Mozart and Memories is one of my favorites.

Let’s Bump this up with some Shostakovitch.

You may have heard this one on a recent commercial for Heiniken. It’s Jazz Suite No. 2, Part IV.

Also, sometimes quite underrated, one of the greatest classical geniuses: Bach!
