This thread is going against the very first rule of the website.

Posting pornography or linking to pornography isn’t allowed on this website.

If I see you guys do this again, bans WILL be handed out or the thread may be closed.

DO NOT do this again.

Count this as your warning.

If you really want to post NSFW stuff to each other, I would suggest you go to a different website.

Just for you Citation. Just for you.

To be honest I did not mean to talk about porn but the timing seems too perfect also.

I understand that only two of you were posting pornography, a general warning needed to be given, however.

In the future, it would be best if a moderator or admin were informed this is happening and the person posting the pornography would be voted down so that their links or pictures cannot be seen.

Normally I’m the person to check for this.

But yeah, Skyrim. Plus some other stuff.

I don’t think I need to explain the difference again between allowed R34 and pornographic content.

From this point I will start reporting again when the content crosses the boarder and gets too explicit. I and other mods will decide that border when we come across the said content, don’t try and argue.

Normally I would give a warning first, but you can see it’s already been given.

RandomMan may not have said anything, CitationNeeded. I don’t know how often you come by, Pimp Abra, but we were previously given an “OK” from Tomberry. This problem has come up before.

There was a thread.

This is straight from the first post of the thread from Tomberry (another database mod):

  • Concerning links and hyperlinks. As you must have noticed, we don’t strictly forbid links to chans archives or places where porn/NSFW ads can exist. But, we greatly invite you to, at least, add a warning before the said link, in order to indicate what can be NSFW or not.

This implies that he thinks it’s ok to post links as long as they weren’t embedded and as long as the links gave plenty of warning as to where they were leading. The difference may be that the linked porn was strictly images (I didn’t click them, so I can’t say if they were sites or images only.)

Then DPF gave this as a response to Connor asking more specifically about links in forums:

  • I think that should be fine Connor, as long as you give a major warning next to the link. Like NSFW, porn site or something along those lines. As long as you don’t post the images on the site.
    And MDF, some articles link to pornographic sites, like the Rule 63 page.

Now, DPF is only a Entry Mod, but Tomberry didn’t object, and again, he implied that it was OK on the forums with a proper warning.

So to sum:

  1. We have had database moderator approval to post it from before. I don’t think any of it was embedded, so I think that’s why the users posting them felt as if they could.
  2. I’m pretty sure there are some differences in understandings among the mods on the issue. I figure we’ll go with your suggestion (Pimp Abra) until there’s more clarification, but over the past month, we’ve gotten mixed signals on the issue from equally powerful moderators.

Could you add that to that thread, Pimp Abra? People in the future may refer to it and think they aren’t breaking the first rule of the forums as long as it’s in a link with a warning when they actually aren’t supposed to.

Oh, Karnage

I hate hentai, especially Japanese.

Much like anime, if it isn’t Japanese, then it’s not hentai.

Oh, this is something that bothers me a bit, but maybe you guys can help me understand it a bit.

Why is there this? Why does it exist?

It may be a similar reason as to why I like sad and creepy FiM stuff: Making a cheerful, bright show turn dark or depressing evokes a lot more of the fear emotion (albeit still a small amount) for me. It’s also connected to characters that I already know and am attached to, so it adds that element of really caring for the characters if something bad happens to them.

However, I don’t get the battle pony thing. Characters go crazy in the show and become depressed, in fairly creepy ways. But they never truly war like we war. It seems like a big jump to make.

To those who like that in pony art or fanfiction, why do you like battle ponies? I don’t get it, but I’d like to understand if you can explain it.

And why the crap do people want ponies to be bipedal, man?!

It’s obvious my good friend. IT’S FOR THE BLOODY IRONY!
People do this kind of stuff all the time. To make things either more epic or fun. The reason why I like MLP creepypasta is because of the irony it brings. People tend to say the same thing for R34 but we already gotten off of that subject.

Oh and!

Take Warhammer 40k for example that game is freaking epic as hell and can be funny too (normally because of orks). But when they ponified it. It made me even more happy of how awesome shit is when there is a pony of it. Besides don’t every civilization have to face these matters from one point to another?

And @ verbose: i dunno about why people like battle ponies (although when done for comedic effect it generally turns out alright) but the ponies seem to have some bipedal tendancies within the show, see pinkie doing the announcing for the running of the leaves, or doing the evil enchantess dance, or doing the gala dance, or doing the you gotta share dance, or rainbow’s fighting pose from the hedge maze, and the list goes on.

Can we leave the porn and R34 out of a children’s show! Stop sexualizing everything. As a 20 year old teenager I would be lying if I said that porn wasn’t interesting, however, there is no need to sexualize everything in sight. Including a kids show!!

Ric Tesla says I’m new here…after being a Brony since March…being on the site for over 2 years…posting on the first thread when it was less active and would go dead for days at a time…

Ok.

Anywho, the fact that I know it exists (by virtue of me posting an example of it) doesn’t mean I necessarily understand it (Karnage.)

But thanks for a straight answer, Ric. I don’t get the appeal of doing something because it’s not expected (assuming you’re going with a loose definition of irony as opposed to doing something for one reason and it actually having the opposite effect,) but I don’t have to. I just wanted to know a reason.

I also place a low value on epic stuff like Master Chief or the honor of battle. I’d just rather chill out and watch birds fly by (as seen from my birthday request post,) but I think that’s another thing I don’t value. So it never occurred to me that turning ponies into war-like creatures as a desirable thing.

You’ve missed my point Ivan. Entirely, I’m afraid.

For one, I simply explained why people might have felt as if they could post R34. I never said anything about how I felt about it or whether I thought it was right or wrong. The post was a matter of KYM’s policy of pornographic material and how it users got mixed signals as to what they could do.

Second, if you’ve read any of my posts on the matter, you would know that I don’t like R34 of Pony. I tolerate it for humanizations, and it offends me for Pony sex, but I don’t indulge in either.

And, at the core of the matter, you’re suggesting that we take your values and apply them to our own. That is dangerous grounds upon which to tread. My stance on porn of any sort is being honest with yourself and recognizing if you have a problem that will affect yourself or other people. I think it’s more than just a little weird to like the porn of FiM, but I want to have a darn good reason before I alienate a person and make them feel like less of a person because they do like it, especially when they don’t really want to.

I wasn’t surprised.

I was confused.

I was asking for a reason.

R34 isn’t a reason.

It’s a rule that is near fact.

R34 exists because people like to sexualize various things.

I know war ponies exist.

I asked “Why does it exist?”

You basically answered your own question. Just take your answer as to why Rule 34 exists, and replace “sexualize” with “make more violent”, “grimdark-ify”, or something like that.

I don’t personally like war ponies, but I imagine that they exist because of people that like guns and also like ponies wanting to create something that combines two of their interests.

@CitationNeeded
I guess it never occurred to me that violence is a desirable trait. I could see sex as being desirable, but I guess some people are really just violent people. However, I guess that would be me being a little naïve considering how popular games like Gears of Wars or Modern Warfare.

Which is a little embarrassing for me, in hindsight, but sometimes I need people to point that out for me to get it.

@sandwichman
I think I may like this answer best. I like 8bit music, so I really like rainbowcrash88’s and kil6969’s stuff. And again, with the sales of lots of violent media, it should have been obvious.

@Ric
Yeah, I got that. But thanks for the post where you first explained it.

ALSO in relation to what I just posted:

Considering my poor understanding of the situation, somebody should have just pointed that out to me. I think that is what they call “hypocrisy.”

It’s the Interwebs. Just look at Rule 34 and other crap. People love to take things innocent and pure and corrupt them into a bunch of crap. It’s just the way the Internet is.

I love the internet sometimes…

Thanks, CitationNeeded, Sandwichman, and Ric.

@CitationNeeded

@sandwichman
I think I may like this answer best. I like 8bit music, so I really like rainbowcrash88’s and kil6969’s stuff. And again, with the sales of lots of violent media, it should have been obvious.

@Ric
Yeah, I got that. But thanks for the post where you first explained it.

ALSO in relation to what I just posted:

And, at the core of the matter, you’re suggesting that we take your values and apply them to our own. That is dangerous grounds upon which to tread.

Considering my poor understanding of the situation, somebody should have just pointed that out to me. I think that is what they call “hypocrisy.”

Don’t worry Verbose. You make me feel retarded half the time.

I wasn’t surprised.

I was confused.

I was asking for a reason.

R34 isn’t a reason.

It’s a rule that is near fact.

R34 exists because people like to sexualize various things.

I know war ponies exist.

I asked “Why does it exist?”

@Dr. Greg

…Well-played.

For the same reason as why this exists

BECAUSE IT CAN

I just seen what you guise were up to without me
