Lesson Zero = a lesson so basic that it comes before Lesson One. Kind of like the 0th Law of Thermodynamics.

New page get! For science!

I dunno, that doesn't seem right.

I feel as if you're Twilight Sparkle instead of opspe. My mind has been blown.

Good point.

@ Pinkie Pop a.k.a. Owens @Sandwichman @ StarGazer
Thanks, I Try. Making Decals on Forza Is more fun than playing the game ( for me at least).

@ Bodygaurd Sparty Mcfly
Thanks. The way you make decals in the game is by grouping all kinds of basic shapes together, and layering them accordingly. The Pinkie pie decal took I think 180 shapes, while my rarity one took 453 and my rainbow dash 347. Thats not including everything else on the car.

I've decided to compile the list of puns/references of titles for all episodes we know so far.

1: Friendship is Magic: Part 1/The Mare in the Moon: Subtitle for the series. The Mare in the Moon was the story Twilight read early in the episode about Nightmare Moon.

2: Friendship is Magic: Part 2/Elements of Harmony: Subtitle for the series. The main characters used the said Elements of Harmony to defeat Nightmare Moon

3: The Ticket Master: A ticket master is a place where one can purchase tickets for events. Taken for a literal sense here, as Twilight is indeed a "ticket master".

4: Applebuck Season: The episode revolves around Applejack's obsession with finishing up said applebuck season. Also, buck season is the allowed time for people to hunt bucks, a kind of deer or something.

5: Griffon the Brush Off: A pun on the term "Given the brush off", which means to disregard one. Pinkie was feeling this when Rainbow ignored her for Gilda.

6: Boast Busters: A pun on Ghostbusters. Raymond loved this one.

7: Dragonshy: A pun on the insect dragonfly.

8: Look Before You Sleep: A pun on the saying "Look before you leap", which means to make sure you know all the risks of something before doing it.

9: Bridle Gossip: A pun on the term "idle gossip". A bridle is something put in a horse's mouth to attach a saddle to their back.

10: Swarm of the Century: A pun on the term "Storm of the century", which is used to describe extremely heavy storms. For example, The Great Blizzard of '93.

11: Winter Wrap-Up: The title of the activity the ponies do to make Spring… spring, since the seasons are lazy. May also be a pun based title, I'm not sure (help?).

12: Call of the Cutie: Based off the title of the group the Cutie Mark Crusaders. May also be a pun based title, I'm not sure (help?).

13: Fall-Weather Friends: Pun on the term "Fair weather friends", people who are only friends when circumstances are pleasurable or profitable. The episode took place during Fall, hence the pun.

14: Suited For Success: An old term. One who is suited for success means they are ready in every way for whatever they're about to do. Taken in a literal sense here, as Rarity is making outfits for the ponies, making sure they're "suited for success".

15: Feeling Pinkie Keen: Obviously a pun, I'm not sure of what, though. Help?

16: Sonic Rainboow: The title of the trick Rainbow Dash practices and subsequently manages to do to impress the Wonderbolts.

17: The Stare Master: A pun based on an old line of exercise machines: Stairmasters. Fluttershy is able to use a stare to hypnotize animals, thus making her a literal stare master.

18: The Show Stoppers: A "Show stopper" is one who completely blows away the audience with a performance.

19: A Dog and Pony Show: A term used to describe an event that is overhyped. Taken as a pun here, as this episode is… literally a dog and pony show.

20: Green Isn't Your Color: A reference to being "Green with envy", which Rarity was at Fluttershy's fame. Also a pun, as something being "not one's color" is a fashion term. Rarity is a fashionista.

21: Over a Barrel: An English idiom which means to be in a predicament where others are in control, which the main characters definitely were when it came to the Appleloosa/buffalo debacle.

22: A Bird in the Hoof: A play on the term "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush", which means it better to have a small, real advantage than the possibility of a larger one. Obviously, ponies have hooves, not hands. Also a pun, in that the episode literally revolves around a bird.

23: The Cutie Mark Chronicles: Possibly a reference/pun. Not sure. Help?

24: Owl's Well That Ends Well: A reference to the saying "All's well that ends well". Obviously, Owlowiscious is… an owl.

25: Party of One: A "party of one" is a party… one has by themselves. Also possibly a reference to a British vaudeville sketch, Dinner For One, which includes a scene where a character walks around a table and imitates the voices of the absent guests.

26: The Best Night Ever: The ponies strive to make the Gala this. It doesn't end well, obviously.

Season 2 in next post.

Feeling pinkie keen is a pun on 'feeling peachy keen' meaning you are feeling fine.

I'm surprised the Rarity one took that many. Maybe most of the 400 were individual strands of hair or something?

Im a perfectionist, so I end up using a lot of shapes. It was the hair that took the most since she has all those lines and the photo I was looking at, her hair had different shades so I tried to get it exact.

Every thread on the Internet needs more 60's Spider-Man.

And ponies. Lots and lots of ponies.

This may have been too obvious and overlooked but if not, isn't mare in the moon a play on 'Man in the Moon?'

sandwichman beat me to feeling peachy keen. He gets my kramas.

I'd like to know what Lesson Zero is a wordplay of. I was thinking along the lines of opspe was going for (I didn't even have to think about how to spell his name this time):
A lesson or assumption that is the basis of the related laws or rules. In this case, the foundation of Twilight giving a report about friendship is that she must first learn a lesson about friendship before reporting it. It is an assumption that must be met. Like normality, linearity, or homoscedasticity in statistics. A lot of analyses are rendered moot if they are not met.

Who wants to be me, now? I'm a long-winded, condescending jerk. You should be RandomMan. Or Algernon. Or Iamslow. They are much nicer.

You're probably right. I feel silly for not realizing that.

Also, congratulations to you for getting on Equestria Daily again!

Apparently 'call of the cutie' is word play on the novel 'call of the wild' in which a dog discovers who it was meant to be or something (can you tell I googled it?).

I thought that too, but I'm not sure. Like with Lesson Zero, it just doesn't sound right.

@Ric: A ponyfag is most likely a 4chan pony poster. That's going to become redundant for obvious reasons…

Or maybe it's because they're casual fans.

It does seem strange that a child's cartoon from 2010 would reference a 1903 book doesn't it? Also how the plight of applebloom and the plight of the dog are so loosely linked.

hhhmmmm
can't think of a way to make this post longer without just talking about my music more

I originally thought 'Call of the Cutie' was like a play on call of duty (it's not just a video game) but that doesn't really make sense in relation to the episode.

Sandwichman wrote:

Shows how well the universe can be connected.

"Call of the Wild" has been pretty widely used/referenced in movies and music since the original novel came out, so I think it's pretty likely that that's what the episode name refers to.

RandomMan, I know you're 'Net savvy and whatnot, but I don't think it's a good idea to post pictures of yourself online, no matter how buff and manly you are.

The next episode needs to get here quickly. I don't have major projects that demand attention this week, but classes are still going to be painful without an episode I kinda like to get me through this week.

Also, is it just me or is John Joseco going off with his art recently…and other artists aren't as…gone…off…?

Oh no, please.

Your pitiful eyes cannot contain the amount of awesome that is me.

Last time I visited Twilight, she was all like.

But then she died, her magic delayed the heart attack for a few seconds.

@Connor

His deviantart.

Although his art is sometimes slightly explicit, he draws the best art IMO.

He's also made the AskPrincessMolestia Tumblr.

I actually play that up for Kalmo and RandomMan. Kalmo is a user I respect, because he actually tried to reason with me as to why a Pony Discussion thread was a bad idea. Everyone else was just being antagonistic or just karma-whoring while waiting for the lock. RandomMan is just really helpful to me. He helped me with my set of article edits along with just directing me around the site and answering questions. So I look up to both of them in terms of what I should be as a user.

Besides, RandomMan or Kalmo can't do anything for me in terms of favors or anything. If I'm sucking up, it's not going to do me much good in the long run. They'd still be the same kind of users they are now.

Oh, Connor: John Joseco has certainly done "saucy" art, but it's all been humanized from what i-- I can tell. Again, I don't know if he does R34, but he's certainly capable of it.

Other than humanized, John Joseco doesn't really draw any Rule 34. He has drawn some of then as regular ponies, but these were made for comedic value, not in an attempt to be "sexy".
