[ANNOUNCEMENT] Chevy Sonic Ad Campaign

Hey guys,

Just a heads up! To help pay for our groceries and rent, Chevy will be sponsoring our meme research on a number of select entries throughout the rest of year. We’ll be featuring one choice meme every other week on the frontpage with daily factoids & trivia.

Generally I’m not a fan of sponsorship, especially if Cheezburger imposed it, but hey, if it helps pay the bills, I’m all for it.

Rest of the year.

So it stops in 2012, or are there plans to let this continue?

Meanwhile in the KYM headquarters.

I’d just like to say to whomever downvoted Brad’s post, remember, it’s not like it’s Brad’s fault. (Um, unless it is in some way I haven’t imagined, I guess.)

We have to accept some umbrage in order to keep the site running, even if that’s advertising/research. Perhaps Chevy can start their research here?

This is unacceptable.

Why don’t you use Adblock? It’s very effective…
That way, you can choose when you want to click on the ads, instead of having them popping up in your face everytime.

People who use adblock are missing out on the fun.

I do, I turn it off on websites that I like to help support them.

I would turn off ad block to see the ironic ads on the side, but I hate YouTube ads so much.

Things could get a lot worse.

If this is gonna devolve into Nazi allusions, we should just stop here.

Yeah, like I said in the other thread, I don’t think we should be comparing any companies to Hitler, KYM sponsor or not.

The only reason this forced meme car shitfest is going as good as it is… Is probably due to the fact that you threw in that sentence about paying for groceries and rent. I admit even I felt sympathetic for one instant.

I doubt anyone on this site, admins and mods included, liked the idea of meme advertisements.

If it makes KYM up and running, I’m cool with it.

Don’t you mean Adblock is…super effective?

But seriously, I don’t really care about the ads. I just scroll past them.

That reminds me, y’all should disable your ad blocker on KYM. Ads suck, but remember, they’re pretty much the only source of revenue for a site like this.

Go turn it off on any other sites you visit fairly regularly as well. The money adds up.
