Is there a “New User of the Year” award? If so, I shall train my hardest to become the recipient of that award!
There are a few entry moderators that have just come on here after the new year 2010 (e.g., RandomMan.) And you can't beat RandomMan (Mostly because PETA would have your balls.) You'd also have to beat out rapturjesus.
No one can hope to approach his, um, glory.
But I like the idea of a site-wide game. Like a meme scavenger hunt for stuff from a link that's at least a month old (where maybe you'd have to find stuff like an image with three certain memes together or get points for finding media for a meme deadpooled due to poor writing and not for lack of notability or spread.) And each team could have a JFF thread to post their stuff on, and no team can post a find that another team has found first. Don't know how that would work in practicality, and that may end up being a ton of JFF threads. But it might get more users interested in requesting editorship to write better articles or find other entries to contribute to.
Or the game Click That Link! It's a game where you have to decide whether or not you should "click that link" that Sweatie or Daniel Vazquez posted. The consolation prizes include RickRoll's, nyan cat, and 4chan /b/ images. I just made it up, even though I play it all of the time.
I thought about making a JFF thread to get people Internet gifts to post on their walls for the holidays. So users could ask for stuff they're interested in on the thread, like specific lolcats or 8 autoplaying Epic Sax Guys. And then I and other users would go find some stuff for their walls. It's free, and it's as time consuming as you want it to be or not be. My hesitation is that everyone on KYM has already seen everything their favorite memes, subcultures, and events have to offer, so it may be redundant.
