Here’s what I want to know: why do we never see Toph wearing a face mask as part of her battle gear? She doesn’t use her eyes, but getting them injured would still hurt – making them a liability. Sticking a plate or something over them seems like a sound strategy.

Hay guise. First time posting on this thread.

Since this thread has been hanging on the top of the KYM General Threads for quite a while already, and I had just finished with Desert Punk, I decided to introduce myself to Avatar, in order to see what all the hype was all about. I hadn’t really paid any attention to Avatar before, due to prejudice and such. But can you really blame me for not wanting to watch the finnish dubbed version at the time it aired here?

But since I’ve been proven wrong before, I decided to give it a chance, and got hooked instantly. Definitely an awesome series, and way more entertaining than FiM, although not artistically as inspiring in my humble opinion.

I spent the last week watching the entire 61 episodes of Last Airbender, which is really unusal for me, since I only watch one or two episodes at a time of any given series. But I just couldn’t stop watching Avatar. The story was nice and easy to follow, and had great characters like Sokka and Iroh.

After that, I caught up with all the episodes of The Legend of Korra, and here I am, posting on the KYM LoK General.

I made a post exposing spoilers, but I figured that was douchey. So I deleted it. But I will tell you this about the spoilers:

And lo, Tarrlok is everyone’s favorite character. Or Bumi. Or the Lieutenant. I had a feelin’ he’d switch sides. Asami was never really a “Traitor”, so someone else had to pull rank at some point. And now Lin’s dramatic sacrifice is 60% less tear-inducing!

Well would you look at that! I wrote this after Tarlok revealed his bloodbending. I might have gotten some stuff wrong, but pretty good huh!

Anyways, about that finale, it was everything I was hoping it would be. The action was great, the bloodbending was beautifully sinister, and the final battle was great. I had a few complaints, but it’s just nit-picking. This season ended on an excellent note, and had it been a mini-series, it would have been a great end. The scene between Tarlok and Amon was really heartbreaking for me. I usually don’t cry for anything, but this almost broke me. I got teary eyed. I hadn’t seen a scene so heartbreaking since Rita’s death in Dexter. I just hope they can have a villain as good as Amon next season. I really liked him. I really like this series so far and the wait for the next season is gonna be hell. Oh well, I’m sure the wait will be worth it.

Also, to those who said the writers had written themselves into a corner and that she would have to go avatar state, lol u mad? And this is a kids show my ass.

Also, Korra’s new ability kind of makes things go back to how they were before the whole Amon thing.

It was my understanding that the lieutenant was killed. Amon said " you served me well" and then bloodbended the shit out of him. Since Amons cover was still intact, there was no reason to let him live. Anyways, it would be lazy to just go back to the equalist for the next villain.
