Ok. Just watched the first legend of Korra episode, dubbed in Dutch.
Korra sounds like a higher pitched dutch Katara. You thought Korras voice didn’t sound right in the beginning? Well, you haven’t heard this one yet.
Tenzins voice doesn’t dound right, either. It’s waaay to soft. More like mature Aang soft. I can’t compare the other voices. Amon and the lieutenant are ok. But Ikki and Jinora don’t do it for me either.
O, and guess what. They call Republic City, Republicazia (something like that). Next sunday we will hear Mako and Bolins voices.

I wish they had some brains, so that they would know that the real fans don’t need dubbed episodes, only English ones with subs. We watched English DBZ episodes like that, and I heard nobody complaining about it

I rewatched a part of the Last Airbender movie, and I noticed something. Don’t know if people know this, but do you remember the part where the old man betrays Aang to the Fire Nation in the Northern Airtemple? Everyone knows that wasn’t how it actually happened in the series. But there was an official Avatar comic named ‘Relics’, where a kinda similair thing happened. you can find the comic here

Also, if you die hards wanna find out who Lin’s father really is, I suggest you read Love Potion #8

LoK episode 2 just aired. The voices for Mako and Bolin are pretty good. I think they gave the voice of Dutch Jet to Mako, which somehow fits him

Oh absolutely.

Burning down countless town and villages? Destroying innocent lives? Persecuting and even executing near-genocide upon entire civilizations?

Nah, totally not ruthless. Pretty damn soft, actually.

You can watch the Dutch version here:

http://www.avatar-fourelements.nl/afleveringen/110/nl/jet/

If the link works in America that is. Just skip to the part when Jet starts talking.

I don’t know about America, but in Canada I got this message:

“Door gebruik te maken van een adblocker, is het bekijken van afleveringen niet mogelijk.
Schakel de adblocker uit om deze aflevering te kunnen kijken.”

I just don’t know what went wrong!

It means that you can’t watch it if you have an adblocker. Perhaps you have to refresh it or go to the homepage and try to find it manually

Do you guys think that Azula and Mileena from Mortal Kombat have almost the same personality. Both obey their father, are beauty and beast and are deadly. And at the end, Azula is almost as crazy

I just noticed something. Remember in the A:TLA finale where Ty Lee said she really bonded with the Kyoshi Warriors in prison? I thought that the other Kyoshi Warriors were send to the prison near the Fire Nation palace and not the Boiling Rock.

I don’t think it was ever specified that Ty Lee and Mai were kept in the boiling rock, they were just said to be put in prison, and so they might have been put in the same prison as the Kiyoshi warriors

Alright you guys, I just found out something uncanny.

You remember that episode near the end of TLA where they help rescue a fire nation village by taking on the appearance of a spirit called “The Painted Lady”? Well, I just found out that the phrase “painted woman” is an archaic term for a “prostitute” or a “promiscuous woman.”

So, do you think this was intentional? Either way, does this change what you think of the episode?

OBJECTION!!!

In the finale, Mai said that her uncle pulled some strings to get her out of jail. It’s very unlikely that he has control on both prisons. And Azula stated that she’ll never has to see their faces again ‘and let them rot’. The Boiling Rock is the best place for that

Touche

But how do we know that Mai and Ty Lee were kept in the same prison? I don’t really remember if Mai said she pulled some strings to get both of them out of prison or just herself. I mean, it would make sense to keep them in separate prisons, that way they couldn’t make plans together to escape.

I ordered ‘Avatar: The Art of the Animated Series’ and arrived a few days ago. I was at the part where Mike and Bryan showed some designs of ‘The Chase’. When they discussed the ‘tank train’ they said, and I quote: “Altough we never showed it, we always joked that Lo and Li were the ones piloting the tank-train”.

The image of that makes me want to piss myself from laughter.

Cosplay discussion!

What do you guys look for in a cosplay from the show? Do you like accuracy? humour? work-intensive? or simple? Or do you just like being able to look at sexy people in tight costumes?

Sep 21, 2012 at 08:31AM EDT
Quote

Mainly I look for if the cosplay is well crafted, like the one above. I like when people put humor in it too (like Iroh with an Iron Man mask). I’m not a huge fan of colored contacts, they just look so weird to me. It’s nice if the cosplayer has the right skin tone, but that by no means makes any other cosplay crap

But . . .but . . . they didn’t send Ty Lee or Mai to the psych ward. I don’t know what to feel about that.
