It appears that you ‘pin’ pictures of things to your wall of things that you like. Then friends or other people can comment or ‘repin’ them to their own wall. It seems pretty pointless to me.

My internet illiterate female friend said, “It’s like reddit for girls!!!11!!!one!”

I have a pinboard on pinterest. The site struck me as being very similar in feel to tumblr, except with items sorted by theme instead of time of post. There is more to it than that, and I can see the appeal, but I didn’t stick with it for too long. I may go back sometime.
