I actually stocked up on the hats that are going out of the store so what I’m doing is waiting till they inflate in price so I can finally make something out of trading. One can only think on how much the Unusuals and Vintages will be worth.

NO
SELL IT NOW
The price wouldn’t rise anymore. I give it a month tops before it starts dropping. They weren’t rare hats to begin with, and the reason the price rose is because people panicked because they are “extinct”. The vintage price rising is just silly, as the amount has never changed, and probably never will change.
I sold all my starter hats for 2 keys each the week or the announcement. They might rise to 3 keys or more, who knows, but the point here is, they will drop in price. An item has to be in demand for the price to rise, and as of now, the demand is high, so the price would rise. In a few weeks though, the demand would go down, as people who want these hats probably got them already, or ran out of funds.
Sell it as soon as you see a good offer.
The only one with a price that would never drop now is the Unusuals as they were pretty rare to begin with, and now they are unobtainable.
Case study: Uncraftable Hitman:Absolution Promos
Important dates:
Nov. 16 - Items added to the game (Genuines)
Nov. 21 - Items added to the store (Uncraftable Unique items)
Nov. 29 - Items bought from the store are now all craftable
As you can see, it’s only a bit over a week between the two updates. There’s less than 1000 of all these items. Their prices soared, up to around 10 keys for each. Now, the hype is over, and their prices are dropping really fast, as all the collectors have it already. There is no demand, so the price drops.
OH MY GOSH YOU GUYS
You need to watch this just to see what the blue engie does in the last five minutes. Amazing engie play.
The clutch play in question starts around 14:20.
In other news, I’ve been messing around with my HUD and my keybinds. I’m currently running a modified Community HUD and have disguises set to my T through \ keys, with shift modifying the team. It’s really great, makes Dead Ringing (or even escaping with any watch) a lot easier.
So, through trading I got a crate 40.
Should I
1. Unbox
2. Sell it
3. Wait until Crate 50 comes out?

Either sell it or wait and exchange it (assuming the pattern holds up and Crate 50, when it finally shows up, is a Salvaged). Several of the items in the crate are actually worth less than the crate, so you only have a 60% or so chance of making a profit (Huntsman, Sapper, and Unusual). If you’re okay with that risk, go for it. Otherwise, I’d keep it, it’s still worth a bunch of keys.

Too late, sold it for 3 keys+ 3 genuine stuff that adds up to a bit over 7 keys.
Also crate 40 price dropped because of the festive huntsman tanked the strange huntsman prices. Also, there’s still only a 1% chance for an unusual, not 20% ._.
The things in crate 40:
-Sapper
-Huntsman
-Mantreads
-Holiday Punch
-Widowmaker
-And if you’re really that lucky, Unusuals
The Sapper is obviously popular, and so is the huntsman. The Widowmaker isn’t that bad.
And no one wants the mantreads or holiday punch.
Whoops, you’re right. I screwed up my math, or mispriced one of the items or something. I know unusual is always 1%, for some reason I thought there were 3 items over 7 keys in the box or blanked and added 20% for unusual.
So, would anyone be interested in a Team Captain or Troublemaker’s Tosslecap?
Whoa, the hats are now like 3-4 keys minimum…
What yo want for the Troublemaker?!!!

Already sold. I picked it up.

Probably like a key? Because it’s dirty.
I have a dirty Fancy Fedora, which I’m trying to sell, but no one buys. Anyone here interested??

OK.
Still haven’t spent a penny since I bought the key to get premium.
It’s a Tumblr that makes stereotypical hipster quote pictures, but with TF2 quotes.
Some highlights:

I just recently found out that if you look straight down and hit yourself with the Boston Basher while airborne, you actually get more air off of that than you get from a jump. Also, a heavy with the Fists of Steel equipped and a Quick-Fix pocket doesn’t take damage from mini-sentries.
Also, some funny:
And for those of you who would like to sharpen up on your engineering skills:
Nearly every engineer I see does nothing more than turtle on defense, and spam minis on offense. It’s a refreshing change of pace to see that people actually use the shotgun, move buildings, prioritize teleporters, etcetera. This video got me hyped for engie, so I played him the rest of the day. I even got an uber while using the Widowmaker! Rushing an enemy heavy with a shotgun that never reloads is amazing fun.
So I just saw a guy win the game of TF2 by unboxing an Orbiting Fire Charmer’s Chapeau. Then he gave out a Pile of Gifts to celebrate, and another guy won the game of TF2 by getting a gifted Secret Saxton. Two winners in five minutes.
The Engineer Bible got me back into playing Team Fortress 2 regularly and also playing to adjust my aim to better mouse settings.
And I recently took a look at Competitive TF2 Gameplay and notice must of the time in public servers I’m playing as Scout, Soldier, and Medic usully getting more points then most people in the server unless the other team had an idea of what they were doing but It was still fun, so for a change of pace I went to TF2 Lobby and played as a medic…
Everyone played a much bigger role then in pup games and you get a very rewarding game for good skill.
Playing as a medic became more fun then it usully is keeping my team alive while doging enemy fire and even get a few kills from my Syringe gun, I felt like a such a badass playing as a competitive Medic.
And now I’m motivated to get good enough aiming skills to play as a competitive Soldier/Scout,
I haven’t had this much fun in such a long time.

Iz gud deal

Engie varies. This is my usual camping loadout. If I battle engie (which i do fairly often) I go shotty/pistol/gunslinger.

Sometimes I C&D instead.
The Distractinator: 374 kills
Silver Botkiller RL Mk I: 377 kills
Festive Buff Banner: 27 banners (it’s my low-skybox secondary, I don’t use it often)
The Beastly Broiler: 710 kills, 3 dominations (I don’t dominate very often as pyro)
Homewrecker: 18 kills
Some Assembly Required: 411 kills, 10 revenges, 1 kill while Ubercharged (just added it yesterday)
Medigun: 23 Ubers, 105 assists
Sniper Rifle: 117 kills
I unboxed a strange once.
It was a Persian’s Persuader. ._.
LOL, STILL KICKING ASS WITH IT.
Oh yeah:
Iz gud.
So I’ve just started playing this game.
WHY THE HELL DID I NOT CONSIDER PLAYING IT EARLIER!?

I started last week. Decided on Medic because he seemed easy to use and I like healing classes. First thing I found was a Quick-Fix, which seems like a gift from God, so that’s what I use. And I bought a Crusader’s Crossbow, mainly to become a Premium Member. Trying to get an Amputator to get the bonus health regeneration.
Gentlemen, welcome to the Mac Update’s Earbuds 2: Electric Boogaloo
grab your popcorn and wait for the butthurt rage, also, looks like those maggots at Mann Co. didn’t create another expensive useless Valentine’s item, thanks for showing some dignity this time.

Tip: the quick-fix is a good gun for healing fast, but intermediate players will hate your guts for using it. they don’t realize just how useful it is to heal a huge group and all you have to do is give up overheal. Plus, it’s great because you can pocket soldiers and rocket-jump with them, bringing the medic to hard-to-reach places.
But seriously, once you get staying alive down, the regular Uber is amazing. It just takes an incredibly long time to charge if everyone is overhealed.
On the bright side, Vets will see its usefulness in certain situations.
First thing I found wa a Rainblower…
Or as I call it, the Trickster Mode gun…
That was pretty much in the first full round I actually played online.
So far, the only thing NOT a weapno that I’ve fround is a supply crate.
Which I cannot even use as I need a key which I cannot buy.
I just watch the game for the memes.
By the way, have you seen the Goldenrod City map?

I should start a blog with all this crap I see.

You know, since everyone thinks these stupid penguins will be valuable, everyone will get one. That means they will be common as fuck and that really just defeats the purpose.

HOLY SHIT

Wow, you lucky thing.
Best luck I’ve had was a Triad Trinket as a MvM reward. And a level 69 Killer’s Kabuto, which to this day I regret selling, since it was my first hat ever.

Did I win hat fortress yet
Mister J wrote:

No, you only win when you uncrate one.
But still, great! :D
Guys, have you tried x10 servers.
They are so much fun.
Like, holy shit.
It’s crazy.
I just did my first mix.nahl pug as a medic and OH MY GOD I LOVE COMP MEDIC SO MUCH
My uncle said that he would give some of his hats to me.
He has a Bill’s.
I should ask him for that.
Do I win or lose?

Best MVM run ever!
But also hell of a pain and long is that 666 wave.
Has someone tried it? Is not that hard, but there’s like 2 impossible parts on all the wave that it’s the 4 tanks rush and the 3 tanks one with 80 spies at the same time all behind you.

No. My teammates are generally terrible.

Yeah… it’s also so annoying to wait till a real team appears, i went into one with Sniper and Spy and no Scout and then they started to ask why we’re not getting money…

A good team on that event usually has demomen and heavies and pyros and spy, perhaps scout.
But if you have a spy on your team, why in the name of fuck wasn’t he/she getting cash?

Scout is the cash grabber, no question. I’ve started playing scout in MvM and I will vehemently defend how necessary he is. After all, if a class gets an infinite overheal from cash, he just may be built for cash collecting.
In other news, the Steampipe update is today… hope you’ve copied your custom files.
Well, every class on mvm is good if it gets its job done right.
Eoks wrote:

It really depends on one thing, what mission you’re playing. Sometimes a certain class is far less useful on certain maps and missions. (Sniper, I’m looking at you)
“TF2 Update 3/12/13
- Unlocked the “What’s in the Portal 2 Soundtrack Box?”
- Added new promo Items
- Removed Salvage Crate #40, Crate #49 and Crate #54 from the drop list
- Added Salvage Crate #50, Crate #56, and Crate #57 to the drop list
- Updated the localization files"
What will be the new Stranges now?
My only guesses are like Normal Sandvich and Buff banner…
Salvaged weapons: The Original. Invis Watch and Splendid Screen
#56: Fire Axe
#57: Fists of Steel, Jarate (There goes down the Jarate price now)
Edit: no wait, there was much more.
#50:
The Original
Invis Watch
Build construction Tool PDA
Strange Bacon Grease (Makes a Frying Pan strange)
#56:
Fire Axe
Flying Guillotine
Beggar’s
Strange parts
#57:
Fists of Steel
Neon Annihilator
Jarate
New Paint can
I’m assuming that the watch counts the number of cloaks, but a strange PDA???
What, buildings built? The wrench already counts sentry kills.
Dat move with making pan strange
Special Encore
