Just found out that an indie Pokemon game in the works based on Prof Oak’s life before all the other games. I’m actually pretty excited for this!

Direct link to the info page

In case you don’t want to sign into facebook (or don’t have one), here’s a snippet from the info:

Take control as a young Samuel Oak or Agatha as they make their journey through Kanto for the first time. Travel through familiar, and not so familiar, areas and learn about the history of Kanto and its inhabitents. Who came before Giovanni? Where did Voltorb come from? How did Agatha and Oak go their separate ways? What was before the Pokédex?
Pokémon Generation 0 is NOT a rom-hack. This game is made through the RPG Maker XP program, and will be a standalone executable. It includes all original music and artwork for the menus and characters (aside from the generic ones, of course).

Discuss, and please tell me if you find any news regarding it!

Think you should discuss that in Pokemon General:

If they’d made original music in the Pokemon style I would’ve been blown away. Still, this is pretty cool. Always nice to see people being creative for reasons other than money.

So you play as a young Oak, huh? What are the starters, Omanyte Kabuto and Aerodayctl?

Haha, I jest. I’m actually looking forward to playing as Professor Acorn.
