Ok I just want to know, you guys say you lock the gallerias because they are being abused. Well why don't you just ban the people abusing them and remove images that don't belong instead of punishing everyone on the site by locking them?

You guys also seem to pick at random when to follow your own guidelines. The MLP and gudam galleries are filled with mostly soft core porn yet don't get locked. Why?

They don't care about porn. They only want relevant images to the entry (even though half the bloody time they don't understand what a crossover is) as long as it's relevant and not NC then it is allowed.

There are a lot of users that don’t tag, post NSFW, and misuse the galleries. Warnings have been given, and ignored mostly. Removing the uploaders does very little to stop the problem. There will always be more misuse. Usually the mods just remove the images that don’t belong, though that is a lot of work. Thing is, it’s come to the point that so many uploaders misuse the galleries, it’s too much to handle. Locking is the best solution. They aren’t being lazy or anything, it’s just way beyond fixing and reminding.

Softcore isn’t exactly against the rules, so technically that’s allowed. Anyone correct me if I’m wrong.

Anyways, banning users is like a last resort, we don’t want to remove so many users, only the really problematic ones.

Yes, because we'd just look so much better for banning people left and right. As Gary put it best, locking galleries is the very last option we use short of mass-bannings. Sometimes too many people misuse the galleries, and we unfortunately have to punish the whole class for something the class clowns did.

This thread is redundant, pointless, and not even encouraging discussion and is instead more like a pedestal for OP to state his opinions. I'm going to redirect everyone to this thread about the gallery lockings and lock this thread

What so hard about you doing your job as an uploader?

We've passed out dozens of warnings and suspensions to the people who continuously abused the galleries. And every time we get one person to behave, another person comes along and replaces them. If we had to ban every abuser, we would have banned half of the website.

We've re-stated over and over again the rules and standards we expected on the galleries themselves and yet nobody listened.

What choice do we have when nobody listens to us?

And we don't pick at random. We pick galleries that only get filled with shit and cause us problems instead of what we actaully want. We want evidence of meme progression and the galleries we locked we getting none of that

At least all the softcore porn in other galleries are a good indicator of how active those fandom/memes are. And well take softcore porn over utter complete garbage anyway
