i dont play with any more, but i loved them as a kid. I never made them the way the box told you too.
I was always bad with legos. Might have to do with my dyspraxia. That doesn't mean I did not have fun though. I had a lego city made on the top bunk of my old bed that accumulated quite a bit of dust.
There are a ton of legos in my attic which will eventually be brought down. My mother has expressed interest in reorganizing complete sets in the past.

I guess for some discussion, I really like the new mixels for parts. They have loads of greebley bits and the new small joints at a low price point, so I think Iv'e bought more duplicates of some of those sets than any other LEGO set recently.
