You thought it was over, I thought it was over but there is a new moderator and he is the terminally unhappy, easily angered ass named Watcher.
Captain Blubber: Question 1: Why did you join Know Your Meme?
Watcher: One day in late summer last year I was bored ans surfing Youtube. Among the amusing videos and Final Fantasy music that I was viewing, I came across a like to a video for something called "Know Your Meme". I clicked it and was hooked. I began to watch them all. I subscribed after I watched all that there were to watch at that point, and every day I would check Youtube for any new one. After awhile I realized that there was a website, so I went there. I lurked for around a month and a half. I finally joined when I saw that there was no entry for Convenience Store Song Parodies. I joined, made the entry, and the rest is history.
CB: Question 2: What was your immediate reaction to becoming an image moderator?
W: My first thought was "I have work to do" and I immediately went to deleting duplicates, irrelevant images, and two counts of bestial porn. I didn't rub it in anyone's face until later. (That was a joke, haha fat chance)
CB: Question 3: How do you go about image moderating? What exactly is your job?
W: I moderate images. If you want an in depth explanation, what I do is remove bad images. There are three main types of bad images:
A) Images Unrelated To The Entry
B) Duplicate Images
C) Innappropriate images. (ie. pornographic, grusome, ect.)
CB: Question 4: What has been your favourite experience on KYM?
W: Discovering how to use the IRC. It is a great place to converse with my fellow memetisists and mess with others.
CB: Question 5: What made you want to start looking for spambots?
W: I saw that one had made a comment on an article. It was obviously advertising, so I informed an admin about it. And then I found another one. And another. And another. Worrying that I was flooding both the IRC and Chris's inbox, I made a thread about it. I thought I would have them all by the weeks end. That was 3 months ago. Since then I have seen spambots advertise everything from Spy Gadgets to Dog Collars to HOSTING to Escorts.
CB: Question 6: What would you do if you ran KYM for a day?
W: Hmm… Probably fix the tags section on all entries.
CB: Question 7: Which user on the site do you think you could beat in a fight?
W: Everyone. I am just that awesome.
CB: Question 8: Who would play Watcher in the KYM motion picture?
W: Live action or animated?
For Live Action, Jorge Garcia. he looks nothing like me, but Hurley is awesome.
For Animated, I would want my voice to be done by Liam O'Brien (aka Kain FREAKING Highwind).
CB: Question 9: Is there anything you wish you could unsee?
W: 711chan's lovely /epicsarcasm porn raid. And a certain video that SOMEONE linked me too… Yes I am still mad about that. You know who you are.
CB: Question 10: Do you have any words of wisdom for the KYM community?
W: Keep Calm, Carry On, Get Back to the Island, and DON'T SCREW UP AROUND ME! But seriously? Do research for your entries. Don't expect others to do all of it for you.
