Dear KYM researchers,
Our beloved Internet scientists have decided to conclude their years-long residency at the KYM Institute and move on to pursue their own field research. While they will be working hard in the most remote and perilous of locations on the cyberweb, they will continue to play an advisory role in meme research and stay in touch through the KYM community. On behalf of KYM research staff & community, we would like to thank each and every one of the scientists for all the passionate work and penetrating insights they've contributed. Without a doubt, these exceptionally talented scholars will go on to do great things.
Yatta's farewell note can be found here:
Most of all, I will be grateful that, over the last few years, Jamie Wilkinson, Ellie Rountree and I were able to seed, grow, and foster a venture like Know Your Meme. It’s more than just a documentation and analysis project but a culture and a community. I’m confident that the work we created there will continue to speak to the current and future of Internet culture.
Elspethjane's farewell letter can be found here:
After almost 5 years with the company, it’s time to move forward and start working on new project(s)! It’s been a great run, and I’d like to thank everyone who has been involved with and helped Rocketboom, Rocketboom Tech, and Know Your Meme.
Mike & Patrick's letter of departure can be found in the forums here.
I’ve had nothing but awesome times working with you guys and the KYM staff making the database and show the most important cultural resource on the web. I will still be involved in the community and look forward to editing entries, and future forum discussions.
Best of luck to y'all in your future endeavors. Looking forward, we will continue in our mission to make KYM the most reliable cultural resource on the Internet & keep you updated with our plans for new additions to the faculty.
Sincerely,
KYM Lead Researchers, Don & Brad
