I agree. Everyone here is very different. I’ve come to enjoy each user and I’ll admit that some of them took me a while to get used to. You all bring something new to the table and never cease to amaze and entertain me. I feel as if I should thank you all for the laughs. Thank you and stay awesome, KYM community.

I’m not so sure about that. I mean, maybe previous communities I’ve been involved with may have been far more stable than is the norm, so my judgment may be off, but I find myself thinking that of all the people who were here when I joined the site, there’s probably less than half a dozen still active. Of course, I could also be misjudging who the oldfags are; Sweatie’s pretty much the only person who never changes his name.

How long do you have to be here to be an old member? One year? Or is it on a when-you-joined basis, where there’s only a select group of old members?

I like to think of this sit as an anti-depressant. Brings joy, snaps me out of a bad mood. In other words, a great place to be.

Old members are determined by their maturity. Similar to the old usenet days when noobs would flood in every September and would gradually learn how to internet.

Actually, I think it really is relative. I think a lot of people think of me as an oldfag, and even though I’ve been here over two years, I don’t feel it, because there was already a thriving community before I arrived. There have been threads before in which people have argued that maybe being active for a year makes you an oldfag, and while many including myself have dismissed such a distinction, this thread got me thinking about it again.

Seeing as there is, (at least to my perception) a pretty high turnover rate, I probably would consider people who have over a year of activity to be oldfags. Perhaps let’s say those who were here from at least Summer 2009 are “real” oldfags.

Almost everyone here are pretty cool. Honestly, other users keep me coming back to this site.

I thank everyone on this site… except warcraftnerd, speaking of which he got deactivated.
