The Japanese car manufacturer Honda has revealed a new version of its robot Asimo which it claims to be smarter and faster. Oh and it can also hop on one foot.

Now I want to see it do Gangnam Style!

I first heard about Asimo years ago. It cost I think over a million dollars to recharge, and it couldn’t do much. This looks epic, though.

Cool, but who really needs a hopping robot? Can this thing even kill a human?

That was definitely worthy of a “shameful display” moment. But after having failed his first attempt at a Tokyo presentation in December 2006, a month later, ASIMO demonstrated tasks such as kicking a football and walking up and down a set of stairs at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

I’ll have to look for that footage.

I found it. This was back in 2006, so today’s Asimo is much faster.

That’s nice and all Honda, now how about some fuel efficient cars?
