Turn 1, The Year 1453
Political Map
Culture Map
-The Holy Roman Emperor is Austrian. Should any imperial provinces come under threat, Austria will defend them.
-Constantinople falls to the Ottoman Turks, finally killing off the last remnant of the Roman Empire.

The Kingdom of Fasier
DarkErmac

Religion: Catholic
Culture: Iberian (Portuguese)
Tech: [==|===]
Block Printing
Army: [==|===]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [===|==]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-Instrumental in the downfall of both Muslims and Portuguese in Iberia, Fasier is a naval oriented nation with a hefty reliance upon trade and fishing. This has also resulted in a great passion for exploration, and the most logical way of expansion would have to be overseas.

The Most Serene Republic of Syserror
Blue Screen (of death)

Religion: Orthodox
Culture: East Slavic (Ruthenian)
Tech: [=|====]
Block Printing
Army: [===|==]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [|=====]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-Blue kingdom of the Ukraine, orthodox and free, Syserror is a republic surrounded by enemies. To the west, the pagans of Belarus and Ruthenia. To the east and south, the islamic nomads of Crimean Khanate. And to the north, the greedy dutchy of Muscovy.

The Most Serene Republic of Crimsonia
Crimson Locks

Religion: Catholic
Culture: West Slavic (Polish)
Tech: [==|===]
Block Printing
Army: [===|==]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [|=====]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-The antiquated Polish crown was destroyed by the new republic of the Crimsons. Unfortunately, this means that the pagans were never fully removed from the east, and have in fact spread deeper into Russia. The Pope demands that Ruthenia and Lithuania be taken care of post haste.

The Kingdom of Korpiklaandi
Penzoid

Religion: Shamanic
Culture: Finno-Ugric (Sami)
Tech: [=|====]
Block Printing
Army: [=|====]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [=|====]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-Founded by a folk metal band that wandered too far north, Korpiklaandi stands on the edge of the world; a pagan nation ready to conquer or be conquered. Conversion to christianity would make it easier to gain friends in Europe, but it would also rob the kingdom of any cause for conquest to the south.

The Most Serene Republic of Seccia
Slappy the Fish

Religion: Catholic
Culture: British (English)
Tech: [===|==]
Block Printing
Army: [==|===]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [====|=]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-England has been purged from the map by Seccia, which has left Northumberland as independent in the north. There are no immediate threats on the island, although the lack of a powerful England has led France to gain significant strength and unity.

The Kingdom of Cattonia
Madcat

Religion: Catholic
Culture: Iberian (Spanish)
Tech: [==|===]
Block Printing
Army: [==|===]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [|=====]

-Castile was outdone by Cattonia, and as a result Granada has stayed strong in the south, while Leon fell ages ago to the Basques. Muslims are still a significant majority in Cattonia as a result of this.

Army: [==|===]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults

-The Ottoman Empire stands on the front porch of Europe begging for somebody to curbstomp their sorry faces back to Asia. Angmar stands as the last bastion of Christian strength between Istanbul and Vienna.

Captain Douglas J Falcon

Religion: Orthodox
Culture: East Slavic (Russian)
Tech: [=|====]
Block Printing
Army: [===|==]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [|=====]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-Once upon a time, a handful of drunken slavs decided that a country ought to be named after it’s ambitions. Their goal in life being to kick as much ass as possible, they named their new nation Kickassia, and there was much rejoicing.

The Noble Republic of Amorica
MDFification

Religion: Catholic
Culture: Basque
Tech: [==|===]
Block Printing
Army: [===|==]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [=|====]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-Literally translated as “land of love,” Amorica has been in direct competition with France for decades as the romantic capital of the world. Naturally, with Basque not being a romance language, the French are on the winning side of the debate.

-Converting to Christianity would be a good avenue into making friends in Europe, but on the other hand it would make conquests hard to justify. And then there is the rumored new world, so called Vinland, to the west with varying opportunities there.

Turn 2
Political Map
-Geonese fortresses in Crimea fall to the Crimeans.
-The Holy Roman Empire is shaken by civil war, resulting in the Emperor in Austria asserting himself as a more powerful figure over the principalities. Salzburg and Autharia are annexed into Austria.

-Trade routes are opened with a number of Fasier’s neighbors. Taxes on the routes generates great quantities of revenue, and Fasier’s strategic location lends to much profit.
-As a result of the influx of wealth, the crown can now afford to fund expeditions for certain insane explorers who want to see if anything lies across the ocean to the west. As fate would have it, there is plenty to see.
-A massive continent is discovered in the west, and it’s shores are mapped out. It has yet to be named.

-The Crimean khanate invades. The plundering hordes desire women and tribute. There can be no peace between nomads and settlers!
-A team of diplomats is assembled to determine relations with the surrounding nations. Belarus and Ruthenia are pagans nations, and therefor enemies, although they have no animosity with Syserror at the moment. Muscovy is a fellow orthodox kingdom, although the have ambitions on Syserrene lands. Crimea is a nomadic khanate of muslim tartars hellbent on conquering their neighbors.
-Trade relations are established with Belarus and Muscovy.
-Cannons are made developed, and gunpowder creation becomes common knowledge.

-Lithuania and Ruthenia are invaded. Fighting two nations at once proves to be a significant hassle, but Crimsonia prevails nevertheless. This may have a lot to do with the knightly orders of Europe, including the Teutons, alongside a number of other noble families donating armed forces to the campaign.

-Tired of using useless gold ducats, the Korpik monarch decides that a new and unique currency needs to be developed, and mandates that all merchants use it. This results in total alienation of trade from the rest of the Europe.
-Attempts are made to pay blacksmiths to create arms and armor for a larger army, and here the monarch realizes the terrible mistake he has made. These people only respect ducats. It is decided that it would be wise to return to the gold standard, and the king’s ridiculous decree is revoked.
-Taxes continue to exist as they always have. However, farmers and plantation owners are now required to pay with food instead of gold. This food needs to be well preserved to last in the king’s coffers, and mainly goes to feeding the massive military forces now built up, resulting in Korpiklaandi becoming the world’s largest producer of hardtack.

-In an effort to gain more preserved foods, trade relations are established with Korpiklaandi, the hardtack capital of the world.
-Expeditions are funded to the far west, and a continent is discovered and mapped.
-Cannons are made the main artillery weapon. Gunpowder magazines pop up in most major fortified locations for the production of this “new” weapon.
-Friendly trade relations are established with Northumberland and France.
-Taxes from the new trade routes are used to fund major universities.

-Turkish Thrace and Bulgaria are invaded. The Ottomans, busy with campaigns elsewhere in Asia, are easily removed from these regions. Constantinople is now under siege from the land and sea, and the Aegean is being blockaded to prevent counterattacks.
-The campaign in Thrace is greatly aided by the support of local Greek peoples. Constantinople’s military garrison is being sabotaged by denizens of the city.
-Attempts to establish profitable trade in the Mediterranean is cut short by the Venetians, who will have no Greek man outdoing their own merchants. They constantly work to remove Angman competition from as many markets as they can.

Army: [==|===]
Men at Arms, Lancers, Catapults

-War with Novgorod and Latvia is made simultaneously. The Novgorodians advance, and seize a chunk of territory near Cherpovets. The Latvians are easily defeated, but the Novgorodian counterattacks prevent Kickassia from occupying any lands there.
-Funding is diverted towards education, and the military suffers.
-Sensing the weakness of their neighbors, Muscovy invades Novgorod and initiates a trade embargo on Kickassia.
-The drunken slavs have apparently forgotten how to ride horses. Mounted knights become a thing of the past when knowledge of the horse is lost and subsequently rediscovered. It is put to use in peasant levies as light cavalry groups known as lancers. They actually prove to be more cost effective than knights.

-An alliance with Navarra is established, although dynastic unions with a republican government type are impossible, and any royal marriages that result from the alliance will be only to the detriment of the republic’s stability, unless it is replaced with a hereditary monarchy.
-Amorica controls the trade routes between Paris and Genoa, resulting a tidy sum of money for the middle man.
-The printing press, a long ignored innovation in Europe, becomes more common in Amorica after its reinvention. The propagation of reading material results in the spread of both ingenious and dangerous ideas.

Army: [|=====]

-Attempts are made to invade all of the principalities surrounding Autharia. This has the unfortunate side effect of causing an immediate civil war within the Holy Roman Empire, pitching Autharia against everybody else.
-Austrian and Bohemian troops cross the border, putting an end to the war. The entire Autharian military is dismantled, and the nation occupied. The Prince Bishop is deposed, and Autharia is split into minor provinces within the Austrian kingdom.

-Expeditions to the west result in the rediscovery of Greenland and Vinland. Fishing outposts are established there to take advantage of the ocean’s untouched wealth in those regions.
-Trade relations are established with Medicea, but growth with other nations is stunted due to Morrowind’s religious differences. Her republican nature is a saving grace, though, as the nation’s plutocratic tendencies makes foreign merchants easier to collaborate with.
-Norway is invaded. Due to the Catholic convergence upon Autharia, very few answer to Norway’s call, and as a result the pagans win a small victory. The Swedish king comes to their “rescue” by seizing the Norwegian crown for himself.

-The printing press is invented, resulting in the spread of wild ideas about church and state. More people also have access to intellectual publications.
-Massive cash influx comes in from the increased trade between western Europe and the Baltic ports.
-More ships are constructed for the navy. The army, on the other hand, has reached it’s limit, being that Forseti does not have the manpower to recruit any more.
-Fortification efforts are made in provinces bordering HRE states and the Tuetonic Order.

-Hungary annexes Transylvania.
-Austria inherits Bohemia through a royal marriage. Silesia, a royal vassal of Bohemia, is also integrated into the Austrian kingdom.
NOTES:
-Tech sliders removed for pointlessness.
-The military sliders represent the size of your military compared to the size of your nation, meaning a small nation can have a full slider but still be pathetic due to low manpower.
-The first person to discover a region may name it. Immature names will be rejected.
-From now on, just title your turns “KYMnatRP” All other turn sending rules (editing, mainly) remain in effect. Some people can’t count.

-Land based expeditions have found numerous resources in Deseia that are worth exploiting. Many kof the nation’s poor are up for a colonization effort, if the crown is willing to provide their sponsors with a charter.

-Trade connections are established to Fasier and Medicea, connecting their routes to the Mediterranean and making Vascony a powerful middleman.
-In an attempt to establish a fishing outpost on the St. Lawrence, an expedition instead discovers a new landmass in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, and decide to settle on one of the islands there.
-Universities are established for the wealthy to send their second and third eldest sons; those who would otherwise inherit none of the family’s fortune instead graduate as doctors and businessmen, enhancing the nation’s wealth and knowledge.

-Christian missionaries in Norway are allowed to spread their beliefs to the mainland. Morrowind by and large converts to Catholicism, although being so far from Europe the nation maintains an odd mix of beliefs, in which Christ is essentially added to their pantheon of gods. (as in, 24 hours to send a turn, even though that’d kinda make the turns come up late at night, but still)

They usually will be, but I didn’t check the time today, had nearly every player’s pms in, and posted early. Sorry about missing you. Since you’ve posted within the 24 hours time frame, I can make an addendum for your nation. Either that, or I can double your efforts for the next turn. It is up to you.

Regarding turn titles, I looked back in my inbox from ages ago and saw this:

It looks cleaner and makes much more sense than this:

So from now on, I am serious, just title your pm “KYMnatRP”
This is not a trick. Just do it. That is all.

-A colony is established in Nova Scotia, and the surrounding lands are claimed for the republic.
-The arquebus makes its way into the Seccian military, weilded by Tercio regiments.

I advise against writing up turns early unless each and every player has already posted their turns early and there is nobody to wait for.

I don’t want to miss a turn because everyone else already posted theirs while I was busy at work.

Turn 4
Political Map
-Civil war breaks out once again within the Holy Roman Empire. Brandenburg gains the allegiance of France and Hungary to remove the Habsburg Austrians from the throne.

The Kingdom of Fasier
DarkErmac

Religion: Catholic
Culture: Iberian (Portuguese)
Tech:
Block Printing, Sextant, Calculus, Medical Science
Army: [==|===]
Pistoleers, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [===|==]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-Colonies are established in Deseia. They find that the lands there are fertile and contain a wealth of new, exotic fruit. There are few natives, and they are extremely hostile. Rumor has it they are cannibalistic.
-Pistols become the main arm of the infantry forces, and pistoleers become the mainstay of the army.
-Calculus is developed by a man who spends his spare time smashing his head into apples.
-Medical Sciences are developed. The health of the Fasien people improves.

The Most Serene Republic of Syserror
Blue Screen (of death)

Religion: Orthodox
Culture: East Slavic (Ruthenian)
Tech:
Block Printing
Army: [====|=]
Pistoleers, Lancers, Cannons
Navy: [|=====]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-Crimea is crushed by the capture of their capital, and the other nations of eastern Europe descend like vultures to pick up the pieces. Border disputes and nomadic tendencies result in war with the Kazan and the Golden Horde.
-Contact with the Muscovites and fleeing nobles and generals from that nation has resulted in the restructuring of the armies. Pistoleers, Lancers, and Cannons are now the primary groups which regiments are structured around.
-Taxes are raised, especially in conquered provinces, to new heights. The money is put directly into military improvements.
-Orthodox missionaries start converting conquered provinces.

The Most Serene Republic of Crimsonia
Crimson Locks

Religion: Catholic
Culture: West Slavic (Polish)
Tech:
Printing Press
Army: [===|==]
Men at Arms, Lancers, Cannons
Navy: [|=====]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-The Crimson military is altered to promote light cavalry groups, inspired by the Kickassian lancers.
-The printing press is invented, and returns national intellectual benefits.
-Attempts to expand north are met by the Tuetonic Order, which refuses to move. War breaks out, and the Teutons are overrun due to superior Crimson manpower.
-The Doge of Crimsonia is excommunicated from the Catholic church for an unprovoked attack on a fellow Catholic nation, especially one dominated by a holy knightly order which has previously aided the Crimsons in war. Fortunately, being a republic, this does not effect the nation for long, and the Doge in question resigns.

The Most Serene Republic of Seccia
Slappy the Fish

Religion: Catholic
Culture: British (English)
Tech:
Block Printing, Sextant, Gene Theory, Compass
Army: [==|===]
Tercio, Knights, Cannons
Navy: [====|=]
Galley, Cog, Galleon

-Native peoples to Nova Scotia are becoming increasingly concerned with the Seccian intruders setting up camp and carting off the land’s natural resources to god only knows where. They have done their best to express their concerns, but they are a small group, incapable of posing any real threat when it comes down to it.
-Explorers move into new lands and begin charting the continent, which they have called Victoria. The Algonquian peoples have been discovered, and appear very friendly and receptive to trade.
-Theories regarding genetics are developed.
-The compass arrives in Seccia, making navigation and charting easier.
-Trade is established with Vascony, cutting out the French middleman and making Seccia closer to the Mediterranean trade.

The Noble Republic of Angmar
Cale the Witch King of Cats

Religion: Orthodox
Culture: Greek
Tech:
Block Printing, Sextant
Army: [==|===]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [===|==]
Caravel, Cog, Galleon

-Tolls on the Bosphorus bring massive profits to the nation. These funds are utilized to initiate a huge public schooling initiative for all wealthy pre-teens, resulting in more aspiring young adults and a stronger economy.
-The fleet is expanded, and outfitted with cannons.
-The lateen sail is developed, making smaller, more maneuverable ships for the high seas possible. Also sextants reach Angmar, further advancing the field of sailing.
-A small donation is made to the Venetians to allow Greek trade. They accept, and open their ports to Angman merchants.

The Kingdom of Kickassia
Captain Douglas J Falcon

Religion: Orthodox
Culture: East Slavic (Russian)
Tech:
Block Printing
Army: [===|==]
Pistoleers, Lancers, Catapults
Navy: [|=====]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-Troops are removed from Latvia once again to focus on a bigger threat. Concentration is made towards Muscovy this time.
-A new short range weapon, named the pistol, is invented. The Kickassian military is armed accordingly. These new troops are notorious for their shock value at both medium range and close quarters.

The United Kingdom of Vascony
MDFification

Religion: Catholic
Culture: Basque
RM with Aragon.
Tech:
Printing Press, Aeolipile
Army: [===|==]
Men at Arms, Knights, Cannons
Navy: [==|===]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-The yet-to-be-named continent is explored thoroughly. If there are any natives, they are hiding their presence very well. There appear to be no signs of intelligent life anywhere. The colonists begin to expand their settlements to the mainland.
-A practical aeolipile is invented, inspired by ancient documents regarding such a device in Egypt created by Hero of Alexandria. The small engine is being used now in a variety of small machines tedious upkeep.
-A royal marriage with Aragon initiates an alliance.
-Cannons are being manufactured for the military now.

The Austrian Province of Autharia
Liam Mayhem

Religion: Catholic
Culture: Germanic (Hannoverian)
Tech:
Block Printing
Army: [=|====]
Men at Arms, Knights, Catapults
Navy: [|=====]
Galley, Cog, Carrack

-Autharia joins France and Brandenburg in the fight against the Austrians. Natives aid in the French advance, and soon enough the Autharians are back into fighting with their own military.
-Mining efforts are increased, and workers are paid slightly more. The lack of significant things worth mining in the region does little to help the effort.

The Noble Republic of Medicea
RocketPropelledPanda

Religion: Catholic
Culture: Celtic (Irish)
Tech:
Printing Press, Germ Theory, Antiseptics
Army: [==|===]
Men at Arms, Knights, Cannons
Navy: [==|===]
Galley, Cog, Galleon

-Cannons make their way into the armed forces.
-A national library is established to archive all scholarly knowledge.
-Antiseptics are developed to prevent the spread of disease and infection during surgery, which is now a more viable option being that it is not quite as fatal as it used to be. Anatomy becomes a well studied field as a result.
-Northumberland is invaded and, with acceptable losses, taken over completely. This unprovoked attack on a fellow Catholic nation is scorned by the Papacy, but very little can be done due to the turmoil in central Europe and the republican nature of Medicea’s government.

The Most Serene Republic of Morrowind
Fridge Logic

Religion: Dunmer Pagan/Catholic
Culture: Nordic (Icelandic)
Tech:
Printing Press, Compass
Army: [=|====]
Men at Arms, Knights, Cannons
Navy: [===|==]
Galley, Cog, Galleon

-Settlements in Vinland start to delve deeper into the continent as Morrowind’s needs turn to lumber and fur.
-A settlement in Newfoundland called Raven Rock becomes the center of trade for the Dunmer new world. The island is renamed Solstheim.
-Cannons and galleons make their way into the military and naval forces of Morrowind from Seccian trade routes through Copenhagen.
-The compass is already invented. However, seldom used. The standardization of the invention and mass production of it extends the sailing season deep into winter, allowing more frequent trade and exploration

The Most Serene Republic of Forseti
Vlad

Religion: Catholic
Culture: Nordic (Danish)
Tech:
Printing Press, Sextant
Army: [==|===]
Musketeers, Lancers, Cannons
Navy: [====|=]
Galley, Cog, Galleon

-Direct trade is established with Medicea through Scotland, and as a result Forseti engineers are inspired to build larger ships. Galleons are now being built.
-Colonists are sent off towards an undiscovered land known in myth and legend as “Ontario,” and end up lost somewhere along the way.
-Improvements in firearms leads to musketeer regiments becoming the standard in Forseti’s military.
-A census tax is initiated, and is used to fund public education.

I take down one Khanate invader and it gets replaced by two more. Guess I’ll be spending most of my time in the war effort in this game

I was hoping to be the world trade power again like in the last game but it looks like MDF will get that honor instead.

@Syndic

FYI: This is the Syserrene national flag

Okay then.

I added flags for everybody that didn’t have one except Autharia, cuz I ran out of time. I tried to make flags that made sense for your nation’s name, starting region, or a flag that you used before. I might have overlooked a post or two, so I’ll change your flag again if you ask it of me.

Syndic, I traded cannons for lancers with Kickassia, but Falcon didn’t get the cannons while I got the lancers. What gives?
