Welcome to your new home, Tanker. Your Garage. Here is where you'll find all your vehicles and equipment.

But before we get to all that, we need to fill out a Personal File for you. Where are you from? What is your name?

Once we've gotten that down, you'll be able to set out on your journey to prove that you are the Ultimate Tanker.

Yep, I decided to make one of these. First and foremost, the nationality you select will determine the tank you start with. There are five choices right now: Soviet Union, United States, Britain, Germany or France.

Each starting tank is different, with certain characteristics that set it apart from the others. Each nation is different, with their own strengths and weaknesses.

For now, let's keep it simple.

Welcome to the front lines, comrade. Time to prove your worth.

Time for our first ever battle, Comrade Hechenbach. FOR MOTHER RUSSIA!

(begins rolling slowly toward the battle, following a friendly Leichttraktor )

Ugh, we need an engine upgrade. Guess we can hope this battle goes well.

Man, thanks. I never would know that doing such things were called breaking the fourth wall if you didn’t link that super relevant article for me. I guess that goes to show how much smarter than me you are. If such a link didn’t exist, I never would have been able to comprehend that post. Thanks for being so relevant, Nair. TVTropes sure is beneficial to improving the quality of that post.

Are you really taking offense at something that really means nothing?

EDIT2: And you delete it after I quote you. Nice job, bub.

Wsx is trolling, no need to get your sticks in a bundle.

Are you insane, Comrade? This tank is not able to get up to high speed, and it is very light as well!

This will end badly!

(attempts to ram hostile FT-17 and misses)

Damn!

(gets rammed by fully upgraded hostile Leichttraktor )

Our right tracks has broken! We are immobilized, comrade!

I dare not!

"It's a long shot, alright…"

"Be aware of your surroundings, rookie!"

"Enemy is hit!"

Somehow, we manage to land a blow against our enemy!

"We've torched him!"

We struck his fuel tank! He's burning!

Okay, so maybe I'm playing in to how Wargaming has always been perceived to have a "Russian Bias" by giving us a stunningly good hit roll.

I'm just trying to salvage this from WSXDAS's actions.

We cannot move! We must repair the track!

Are you mad? They would run us down in an instant if we tried to get out of this vehicle!

Cale wrote:

We are currently fighting at Mines. The battle is not going well, as we have lost our right track, but we did manage to set fire to an enemy FT-17.

@ Trollkeeper: What? My arms are right here! Focus!

@ WSXDAS: I told you once! THE TRACK IS BROKEN! We cannot move!

Trollkeeper wrote:

>Do a backflip

I heard some T-50-2 drivers think they are real stuntmen, doing backflips in those damned things…

BUT WE AREN'T GOING ANYWHERE UNTIL-

"Track's fixed, let's roll!"

About time, comrade! But be wary: they are not as strong as they used to be! We cannot afford to get shot in the side again!

Evan Hechenbach wrote:

"Fuck tactics, Zharkov. This is war, damn it!"

"Target locked! Ready to fire on target!"

Comrade, can't you load gun faster?

(gun fires three rounds in succession)

"Looks like that one went right through!"

Only one of them hit their mark, sir!

Trollkeeper wrote:

>Now that we can move, do a goddamn backflip

We don't have the engine power for that, comrade! This thing doesn't even have ten horse power per ton! A fully upgraded T-50-2 gets over thirty!

Evan Hechenbach wrote:

>Take aim at track (whichever side we are facing)

"Enemy is hit!"

They're still moving! We need to shoot again!

(takes a hit from the hostile FT-17)

"We've been hit in the fuel tank!"

Crap! If they hit our engine now, it will be far more likely to burn!

Evan Hechenbach wrote:

>Shoot again

"We've hit them hard!"

The enemy Ltraktor's track has broken! They're immobilized!

(friendly Ltraktor finishes him off)

Ha! I knew we had allies we could count on!

Evan Hechenbach wrote:

"That's gonna leave a mark…"

"Enemy vehicle destroyed!"

We got him, comrade! Our allies have finished the remaining enemies.

VICTORY! We have done it, comrade!

(returns to garage, after battle report pops up)

Well would you look at that! We earned 1000 EXP for the battle, more than enough to research all upgrades and all the tanks that this one leads to.

But I don’t think we have enough money to go up to the next tier just yet.

We only have 3500 credits. We could simply research upgrades, then go to the next tank, but I'd rather us spend our money on upgrading what we've got.

(finishes researching and mounting all upgrades)

Our tank has received a new designation: T-18M. Do not worry, though, since we won't be facing anything we haven't fought before.

Updated vehicle stats:

  • Turret: MS-1 Modernized; same armor as Hexagonal; traverse speed: 35 degrees per second (-4 vs. Hexagonal); view range: 280 meters (+40 vs. Hexagonal)
  • Gun: 45mm mod. 1932; damage: 47 HP per hit (17 vs. 37mm Hotchkiss); average penetration: 51mm at 100 meters (17 vs. 37mm Hotchkiss); fire rate: 20.69 rounds per minute (-3.31 vs. 37mm Hotchkiss); accuracy: .46 meters at 100m (-0.08 vs. 37mm Hotchkiss)
  • Engine: AMO-3; 70 horse power (+27 vs. MS-1); same chance of fire if hit
  • Suspension: T-18; load capacity: 6.5 metric tons (1.61 metric tons vs. MS-1); hull traverse: 38 degrees per second (4 vs. MS-1)
  • Radio: 71-TK-1; range: 265 meters (+175 meters vs. Signal Flags)
  • Vehicle Weight: 5.431 metric tons (+731 kilograms vs. stock)
  • Power to Weight Ratio: 12.89 horse power per ton (+3.74 vs. stock)

As you can see, we've turned this little tank into a proper killing machine.

Oh, and needless to say, I also took the liberty of clearing out our Depot of the demounted modules. I was able to set us up with a handful of 45mm "Armor Piercing Composite Rigid" shells. These get 88mm of average armor penetration vs. the 51mm of the standard AP shell. Only downside is that they lose penetration at a far steeper rate over long range.
