I’m drawing it now. Ten pages in and I’m only in Pewter City…what have I gotten myself into?

Haha, boulder badge in the mouth, very nice =) It’s hilarious to see how on orange has to react to not having any hands or pockets etc. Keep it coming, this is great =)

Seeing as Jack Candle reposted the entire series in another thread, I thought the original thread needed a bump.

I have some news, and this is as good a place as any to post it. Me and the boys at /vp/ have started on something. Something big. Wailord-big. We are taking the original Nuzlocke run, Ruby: Hard Mode, and turning it into…

…wait for it…

..almost there…

Nuzlocke: The Musical.

There was a thread about what would happen if Disney ran the Pokemon anime. I cracked a joke about bursting into song every episode. That got us thinking about what a Pokemon musical would be like. Then somebody suggested we take the story of the greatest Pokemon comic ever made and bring it to life. It took off like a rocket. We have every available writefag working on the script, every available drawfag learning Flash, and more willing voice actors than we know what to do with. We even have the full support of Nuzlocke himself: we’re using his forum as a base of operations. Oh, and guess who’s voice acting Ruby? Guess who’s in charge of writing the songs? Guess who already has two written out? Yeah. Everyone’s favorite orange.

OK, here’s what I have so far. These are the lyrics to the big opening number. The narrator addresses Ruby directly, fuck the fourth wall, and tells him about the rules on the Nuzlocke Challenge. The music is going to be like something a gang in Brooklyn would walk down an alley snapping their fingers to.

Narrator: Hey you.
Ruby: Huh?
N: Yeah, you.
R: What?
N: You’re about to start a little adventure, huh?
R: Um, yeah.
N: Well this one’s going to be different.
R: This…doesn’t sound good.
N: You see, this run is going to have some rules.
R: (wary) What kind of rules?
N: I’m glad you asked.
(music picks up)
N: The first rule is a limitation
To who you add on to your team.
One Pokemon per each location,
Only the first one that you see.
R: But what if I find something rare
When I explore a little further?
N: I really simply do not care.
Who do you think I am, your mother?

The second rule will test your head.
If someone on your team should faint,
You must release them; they are dead.
Your lack of skill has sealed their fate.
R: Is there no way to bring them back?
Like, what if I have Max Revives?
N: I don’t care what’s in your pack,
There’s no way to restore their lives.

It’s an all-or-nothing one-way street,
Can you handle all the heat?
Take the risk, get on your feet.
Will it end in glory or defeat?
Now the decision falls to you.
Are you good enough to see it through?
You’ll be a hero, looked up to.
Tell me, Ruby: What will you do?

R: …Let’s do it.

A quick warning to you Jack, I have started on my own (Soul Silver) Nuzlocke run and should be done with the first chapter by the end of next week.

If I do manage to reach red, I will draw you as him instead. XD

@Vulcanus: I’m still going to do the comic, if that’s what you mean.

@Natsuru: That’s just plain ol’ awesome. Good luck to you.

Bump.

Man, Jack Candle, I really can’t help but bump this thread up. You know, the comic’s really good, not too high graphic, but that’s forgivable _ Anyway, the storyline’s very consistent, the characters and the personalities so comedic and original, it really gives the essence of what one wants from a Pokemon comic. Wow, Jack Candle, you

Nifty! And spiffy as well. Why? Because you’re so cool I have to use words of pleasure from the 80’s to describe you.

As an excuse to bump, I guess I’ll give you guys an update on Nuzlocke: The Musical. Currently, we’re trying to iron out a final draft of the script. There will be a total of five songs it it: an intro song, which is the one I already posted, an 80’s love song duet with Norman and his Vigorith, Good-Ruby, Maxie’s vilianous plotting song, which ended up as a pirate shanty, a grinding song for Victory Road, and an ending song called “Happening For A Reason”. I have the first three finished and the last two started.
