This meme comes from a Tumblr post, where someone posted this gif:

along with a lengthy description of it’s origin…

“This is someone dying while having an MRI scan. Before you die, your brain releases tons and tons of endorphins that make you feel a range of emotions. Tragically beautiful.

i reblog this everytime."

It has, however been pointed out by MANY people that this is, in fact, a scene from The Walking Dead where someone turned into a zombie. The original post now has over 300,000 notes and people make parodies of the original post a lot. Does anyone else think this is deserving of a page.

I’ve definitely seen this passed around and seen arguments somehow devolve into abortion or something (????)

Or maybe by abortion I mean this caption by Brad O’Farrell:

This is an MRI scan of a person with Asperger’s being held accountable for their behavior :( :( :( please reblog

Oh man, that’s just terrible.

On a side note, this was posted to reddit sometime and I think it hit the front page.

I’ll look for it.

How would you go about catching someone dying in an MRI anyway? No ethics board in the world would let you actually kill someone while they were in the machine, and you couldn’t just put a dying person in one 24/7 and wait for them to pass – you’d be taking the machine away from patients who need it. As far as I can tell, the only way is to just get lucky (for a given value of the term) and just have a patient have a heart attack while on the MRI for an unrelated reason. Or is there another way?
