i think this question still has not been answered for almost 2 years.
can MEMES be a meme?
cant we just get an internet petition(on KYM) to get this confirmed?

Well, if you’ve noticed how things have been lately, Know Your Meme is no longer just for memes. Know Your Meme has turned into a “Internet Encyclopedia.”

Unlike 2 years ago, we now have categories for people, sub-cultures, and more. The entry for Memes would be classified under “Sub-culture.” Like I said in other threads, not having this entry finished and confirmed is like Wikipedia not having a article about themselves or the dictionary without the word “dictionary” in it.

yes, i have noticed how things have changed. I might as well change it to sub-culture. If the other editors have a problem, they can change it back.

I’m not sure if memes can be a meme, but I agree with Anako. This site has been documenting several things that aren’t exactly memes but have spread around the internet. I think it’s safe to say that the idea of memes has spread around the internet. Also, this might help people understand why many meme entries are deadpool’d.

I also think a bit of things can be added to the entry before it is confirmed. However, I do believe this is a entry that needs to be confirmed.

Um… I’ll think about it. I’ll probably just add pictures and videos for now. However, if anyone else viewing the thread can help too, that would be fine.
