Fox News plays suicide on air

So, Fox News was filming a carjacking, but when the guy appeared to be unstable, the anchor said to cut off, but the cameramen did not. Suicide was broadcast on live television.

Here are some examples of image macros of it:

Smith as he yelled to cut off:

How do I make the images smaller?

Don't watch the video.

He then made an apology:

>We really messed up. And we’re all very sorry. That didn’t belong on TV. We took every precaution we knew how to take to keep that from being on TV. And I personally apologize to you that that happened. We see a lot of things that we see that we don’t get to you because it’s not time-appropriate, it’s insensitive, it’s just wrong. That was wrong. And that won’t happen again on my watch, and I’m sorry.

This one you can watch (his apology):

I was going to make this, but i thought it was to soon. It has only been less then one day that the suicide has happenned. Creating a page for this will be either deadpooled instantly (lack of internet impact) or just everyday know things has to be put on there (something happens to the video somewhere on the internet).

It's all over /b/ if anyone's curious. At the end of the original uploaded video, there was an ad for something to do with Mesothelioma. It only ran for a few seconds on the video but it opened with a guy saying "Hi, my name is Doug and I have mesothelioma." It got really huge on /b/ as did GET OFF IT. Here's some posts I screencapped.

Leave it to /b/ to propagate a fad like this. A guy killing himself on live tv. Do with it what you will. I kind of saw it coming.

Honestly, I'm not surprised that Doug with mesothelioma has become more of a meme than the suicide (although it's kind of impressive the suicide itself isn't the meme, /b/ I am proud). It was so incongruous, and I'll be honest, I laughed when it just cut to "I'm Doug, and I have mesothelioma." If this keeps up for a while, I would probably make this an Event, and if Doug keeps up, he might deserve a meme page.

I'm personally not surprised that 4chan made a joke out of suicide, but I am still offset over this happening.

I'd say wait to make the entry for at least a few more days, and if it continues at the rate it's going, then create the entry and remember to regularly update it for notable developments, as they unfold, which I'm sure they will.
