The Yahoo Effect

So in the last month, two memes have been used as stock photos for Yahoo articles. The first example was the crying woman from First World Problems for an article called How to Hold Back Tears. The second example was using Misunderstood Mitch for an article called When Is It Ok to Date a Jerk. If more these pop up on Yahoo, then this could become memeatic.

Are people reacting to these images? Or is it just Yahoo not doing the homework on their stock photos? If it is the second case, then I’d say it’s not memetic; it’s only a string of interesting coincidences.

I’d say there should be an entry on the Subculture of Yahoo. If there was ever a far right section of the internet, it would be there.
