Last weekend at PyCon, a Python programming conference SendGrid employee Adria Richards tweeted about a group of devs who were joking about “big dongles” right behind her. According to a blog post, PyCon staff took care of the situation. However, the discussion continued on Twitter with the hashtag #donglegate. The developer making the jokes got fired from his employer, PlayHaven. However, this morning SendGrid also publicly fired Richards via Facebook and Twitter. They are also under DDoS attack to top it all off.

It should also be mentioned that PyCon has, as of 4 hours ago, updated their code of conduct in response to this incident

@sitrep, do you know what was changed?

Pycon pretty much tightened the process by which rule violations and harassment were reported and made this entire process confidential.

They also added in the “We don’t support shaming” clause.

Here’s a direct link to their site.

Link for the glory of longcat

Also, I dun goofed and the update was made yesterday.
