Deadpool, when an entry is not valid… or it could be?

After looking at some deadpooled entries, that's what I asked myself when I saw that some entries can be valid with some work, and even confirmed, but they need some love.

Why have I created this thread? Because we need YOU! In similar fashion to Project Reconfirmation, you can request editorship to any of this entries, to research on them and work on the entries. You can post here your progress, and asking for help in case you need it.

Here are some entries. The list isn't complete, so you can post entries you think that can be valid:

Kill Yourself
Bitch Please
BRILLIANT
X Approves / Does Not Approve
I AINT EVEN MAD

Thanks to Cyber6x for creating the project's name.

Jewspiracies is an often recurring reaction face on 4chan, used to mock Jews. Issue is that Jewspiracies, as the OP wrote it, is about conspiracy theories involving stereotypical jew behavior.

What I'm aiming for with that entry is solely the documentation of that reaction face. If anyone knows a more common name for that reaction face, please say so and we might continue from there.

I looked through the Deadpooled to see if I could find anything. While I didn't see any real "This is definitely a meme and it should be undeadpooled this instant," I did see quite a few in-jokes for particular fandoms that do have an online presence and should at least be given a chance at reworking. I might make a list later.

I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm the only one who still thinks that the Deadpool entry isn't a valid entry for this site, but I'm sticking to that.

As for an entry that's worth undeadpooling, I put my vote in for Robotnik

X Needs Therapy is an article that should be confirmed, but isn't for god knows what reason. It has proper documentation of the meme (which was an actual meme on YTMND), and it is well-written overall.

"Jiggle Physics" is something that could use an overhaul before it gets Undeadpooled. There are already tons of images in the gallery, but the article itself needs to be more comprehensive in what it covers.

I honestly think that that "Jewspiracies" article should be deleted along with all of its content. Most of the images in the gallery have little to do with the "meme" in question and are used as a method to spread antisemitism and similar hate speech. If you wanted to make a page for that image, you should probably call it "With Jews, You Lose", as that's another drawing that the creepy artist in question made.

Since we're now doing sub-meme Y as part of a series on Subculture X, I think we need to take a deeper look at some of the deadpooled memes under the context of a "fandom meme" (something that is definately a meme within a fandom even if it isn't a true viral meme outside of the fandom).

Examples:

1. Metal Boxes: VERY well known within the 40k fandom. Got referenced at a 2008 Games Day.

2. Best Mom Ever: Memetic within the When They Cry fandom. Also known on 4chan and 2 chan (/a/). This one needs some SERIOUS work. I could add a few videos, especially from scenes from the 4th novel of Umineko (Alliance of the Golden Witch).

3. Small Bombs: Like above, a memetic phrase within the When They Cry fandom.

While we're at it, I think its time we start looking at the subculture pages and start confirming them. We confirmed Headless Mami and Kyubey, yet the subculture those memes come from (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) isn't confirmed yet.

"Thanks to Cyber6x for creating the project’s name."

I thought it read 'Liverpool' when I first read it, but other than that, that's pretty good.

Now look, I believe there are some pages that are in the deadpool mainly because the moderators really on't think they have a chance, but I think it's because they could be meme around different sites and/or the article was made poorly and left like that plus nobody came in and saved it. I can assure you, there are articles like that around. I should really be looking for them…

Keeping Deadpool in the deadpool is like we intentionally keep Bad Luck Brian into submissions for his bad luck. Anything else would result into serious paradox.

Here are other entries, but I hesitate with some of them:

- Man Door Hand Hook Car Door
- Sup Son (I doubt about this one, I don't know if it is a meme or a fandom (Starcraft) fad)
- Can't See Shit Captain
- Oh the Huge Manatee
- This is a Flammenwerfer. It Werfs Flammen. (I also hesitate about this one)
- An Alcohol
- Metalocalypse (I think this one can be rewritten and being used to refer to the show)
- Is X Gonna Have to Choke a Bitch?
- Getting Real Tired of Your Shit / Bullshit (I forgot to add this one to the first post. Very popular catchphrase and exploitable in Tumblr)

I think Bohemian Rhapsody should be undeadpooled.

Indeed. It's one of the most famous songs ever; I remember several sing along threads in JFF using it. We could also use Wayne's World as increasing its popularity.

I would say Super Robo Jesus, but I won't, for obvious reasons.

Okay, let me see what I can come up with…

Mewthree – Very Popular in the Pokemon fandom; at least worthy of re-writing and mentioning the recent resurgence because of X and Y with a new Mew form getting considered as "the real Mewthree."
The Definition of Insanity – Really, REALLY popular catchphrase among Far Cry players; kind of like The Cake Is a Lie except a different franchise.
Happy Appy – A pretty popular creepypasta; not quite in the ranks with Dead Bart or Squidward's Suicide, but I've seen it around. (Definitely change it from subculture to meme though.)
Jackie Chan – I've seen a still frame that often gets used as a reaction image/rage comic; not to mention him getting referenced in martial arts/nostalgia discussions.
Fandomstuck – Could be put under Homestuck or Crossovers respectively. Hey, crossovers for Pokemon and Kirby aren't deadpooled, and ponification is confirmed.

Well those are things to be worked on. I'm sure there are others that could be mentioned but I couldn't find.

We have the Homestuck AU entry for subjects like that. Perhaps consider a header there.

I call an undeadpool vote on the Transformers page. I know:

RIGHT?
since I'm a Transformers fan, but seriously, this is a big subculture that should at the very least, be undeadpooled and have a major overhaul.

Agreed.

Because I like this thread too much, there's something that I would like to add to it instead of simply letting it get locked.

TETSUO! KANEDA! is fairly popular around people that have read or seen Akira, but the article itself is fairly short. I think this is something that may be worth investigating.

On a less related note, the Chris-Chan page that we have here is in need of a desperate overhaul. It isn't Deadpooled, but it's in a pretty "meh" state that could be fixed up if someone put effort into it.

To all of you talking about reviving the Jiggle Physics page…

What is Jiggle Physics / Gainaxing? What would you put in the entry?

Is it a type of image? So, now we want an entry about "pictures of boobies". Why not one about "pictures of cars" or "pictures of computers"?

Is it an animation style? KYM doesn't document animation styles, that's OLD MEDIA. Unless you want to expand and make pages on "cel shading" and "24fps".

Is it an inside joke? Catchphrase? No examples have phrases, or even words.

If it's a meme, what is its origin? How has it evolved? It's just fanservice. It's been around as long as all media, forever.

If it's a subculture, what is the fanbase? Horny dudes? Overly global. Why don't we make an entry about the "food" subculture? Man, I am such a foodbro.

KYM doesn't document old-media tendencies. There are other places for that.

I watch it for the plot is a meme, a phrase used with images to make a somewhat contradictory joke. It has spawned an entirely new usage of the word "plot." It's largely only seen on the internet. The meme is specific, recognizable, and spreading. IT IS A MUCH BETTER CANDIDATE FOR OUR SERVERSPACE.

Boy that got heated. Whew. I should cool my jets.

Sure is summer in here.

If I may provide a rebuttal towards the above post, I'm going to take a look at the major arguments presented…

Is it a type of image? So, now we want an entry about “pictures of boobies”. Why not one about “pictures of cars” or “pictures of computers”?

Because this is something that's prevalent with animators – especially ones one the internet (which, golly happens to be what this site is mainly about). If you pull up a cartoon by Egoraptor or SpazKid and there's a woman in there, odds are they're going to be some jiggling involved.

Is it an animation style? KYM doesn’t document animation styles, that’s OLD MEDIA. Unless you want to expand and make pages on “cel shading” and “24fps”.

I wouldn't call it an Animation Style so much as I would call in an Animation Trend. It isn't present in absolutely everything, but it's pretty prominent in the medium.

Is it an inside joke? Catchphrase? No examples have phrases, or even words.

"Gainaxing" is an inside joke for Anime fans for exaggerated breast movement, and "Jiggle Physics" is the same thing regarding Video Games. The latter might as well be called "Dead Or Alive Syndrome" or something. I believe there are a couple of Demotivational Posters among the many images featured within the Gallery.

If it’s a meme, what is its origin? How has it evolved? It’s just fanservice. It’s been around as long as all media, forever.

Not in animation, it hasn't. True, a handful of the images in the Gallery aren't animated, but most of them are, and that's what the entry is trying to support.

If it’s a subculture, what is the fanbase? Horny dudes? Overly global. Why don’t we make an entry about the “food” subculture? Man, I am such a foodbro.

A quick tangent: I'm pretty sure that we have tons of pages on specific foods already, so this is a moot point. Come to think of it, a "Food" article may actually be necessary.

Back on topic: I will give you this point. It doesn't seem like we have pages relating to people being fond of sexuality in general. Oh, wait just a minute… Did you forget that there's a Gallery for Asses? And don't even get me started on how much porn is in this Gallery.

You also seem to have defeated your own point by mentioning an existing Meme that supports the idea that there should be a gallery related to "sexy" stuff. I implore you to take a look at ten or so images on the "Jiggle Physics" page and tell me exactly how well they would transfer.

For the record, I'm not trying to be combatative so much as I'm trying to prove that the article legitimately does have a place here.

Today, I mentioned PEBKAC to someone and was delighted to see it existed…then sad to see it was deadpooled. It's legit, but the entry is poorly written. If anyone has good info to flesh it out, please do, and I'll gladly help polish it up.

Sorry for making this post, folks. You don't have to keep giving me negative Karma for it.

Back on topic. There was a page for "Malicious Advice Mallard" that I think could work as a subpage for "Actual Advice Mallard". It seemed to be Deadpooled for no reason, and no explanation was given as to why it was thrown into the garbage.

On the subject of Sonic related stuff, I'd like to talk about "GET A LOAD OF THIS!"

I'll just start by saying that the specific line on its own is not worthy of an article, so I am not asking for anything to be done regarding that…

HOWEVER, I will propose that we make an article for all the memorable Sonic game lines, touching onto each individual line. This would of course be related to the Sonic entry itself. And I don't mean just Eggman';s lines here.

I mean the other particularly memorable lines – "FIND THE COMPUTER ROOM!" for example. (And of course "IT'S NO USE!" is burned into my brain despite me never having played that piece of **** known as Sonic '06….)

I know this isn't entirely relevant to the idea of the thread, but… That article really has no hope, so I propose this alternative.

as awful condition it is right now, Lil Wayne is actually quite popular on the internet (in the way Nicki Minaj is popular on the internet) and could easily be a meme.

Although not huge, Dude! Let me in! I'm a fairy! does have spread (it also had a bit of a surge after Fairy Type Pokemon were confirmed). It hasn't been updated in four years, and the current state of the article makes Super Robo Jesus look good.

There are around 450 images tagged as ジャーマンスープレックス (German Suplex) on Pixiv. The article for German Suplex needs work, but it certainly is a meme something.

Edit: I just noticed Mona_jpn did make a post on the page, saying it "is not a meme, fad or something notable". However, this was two years ago, and I know the site's coverage has changed a bit since then.

If we try describing about those "German Suplex" illustrations on pixiv, it would be better to rewrite the existing entry focusing on itself because most of them are results of an "user generated campaign" or Kikaku (企画) utilizing a (now defunct) template. It's a 2009 fad called as "My Waifu's Favorite Hold" (嫁の必殺技) or "My Waifu's Atomic Suplex Hold" (嫁の原爆固め). (pixiv's search results). I think we don't have to explain that pro-wrestling move by ourselves.
