So what's up with the hate for image macros?

I've noticed that a lot of submissions that are image macros or "Advice Animals" seem to be a target of a lot of hate from this site.

My question is: why? I can understand the argument that they're stupid and forced, but I honestly fail to see how that's different from basically every other internet meme ever. In my eyes, memes have never been much more than stupid things that people repeat ad nauseum, so I honestly can't say I understand why everyone here acts so snobbish about them.

Any meme that's forced is a target of ridicule. A real meme occurs naturally.

Unfortunately, image macros are not usually natural, but rather an idea on top of an idea on top of an idea.

The original concept of an image macro is a meme.

Any memes spawned from that original idea are usually not natural memes, but rather are forced, and it upsets the community.

It just so happens image macros are the perfect tool for forcing an idea.

Advice Animals are the perfect example of what Ωwens means.
The original ones like Advice Dog were pretty well received. But nowadays we're just like "lololol another advice animal +1 dedpul".
Back when there were only a few variations they were alright. But now they're just overused. (Not my opinion, but that of the internet in general)
