Oregon Whale Explosion

Apparently, in 1970, a whale was discovered on the beaches of Florence, Oregon and crews attempted to get rid of it with dynamite. Sometime later, the story made its way to the internet. It was believed to be made up, until someone posted the video. So far, I’ve found one derivation, an animation, can anyone else find more?

Do you mean the failed whale explosion, where whale’s pieces were thrown on cars, people, everywhere ?
‘Cause it also seemed to have reached TV.
I saw it in a French version of "World’s most amazing videos" or something like that.

I saw it on Discovery Channel’s “Destroyed in Seconds”

Here’s the video for anyone who hasn’t seen it.

Excerpted from ED:

When the whale exploded, blubber flew all over, smashing cars and hitting people
