Apparently, in 1970, a whale was discovered on the beaches of Florence, Oregon and crews attempted to get rid of it with dynamite. Sometime later, the story made its way to the internet. It was believed to be made up, until someone posted the video. So far, I've found one derivation, an animation, can anyone else find more?

Do you mean the failed whale explosion, where whale's pieces were thrown on cars, people, everywhere ?
'Cause it also seemed to have reached TV.
I saw it in a French version of "World's most amazing videos" or something like that.
I saw it on Discovery Channel's "Destroyed in Seconds"
Here's the video for anyone who hasn't seen it.
I saw this on a friend's ipod. I do like this as a meme, but I havn't found any pictures. Sorry.
It's an extremely viral video and I expect there to be some derivative videos of it. It could be worth documenting, IMO.
