I'm doing a dissertation that seeks to understand the relationship between ideology and internet culture. The 'case studies' for my empirical research will be internet memes.
Some questions:
How does the community who processes confirmation, deadpooling, editing organise/run itself? Is it organised like any wikia, where any user can contribute and anyone/mods edit and so forth? Or is it more centralised?
Anyone know of any academic papers that may help me with my topic?
