Should someone create a Lolicon entry?

Seeing there's already entries of Rule 34, Hentai quotes and pretty much every important 4chan subculture/event, and i see at least a thread of this everytime i visit that board.

Granted, it would have lots of controversy and moral issues.

Oh boy. I've certainly thought about it. It's certainly a big…umm…subculture. Of course if we were to document it, then we might as well throw in shotacons, and from there it's only a short step to futas. The main problem is that the gallery would have to be closely watched. The entry would of course be 100% NSFW, but we'd have to decide what is crossing the line if we weren't to lock the gallery completely. At least that's my thoughts on it. People could prove me wrong, but if the Henati Quotes gallery is any indication, then there are definitely going to be people who just upload stuff without thinking. :/

If we did make an article, I would strongly suggest adding in some tame/SFW material to the galleries and then promptly lock it. I do not have a problem with there being an entry as long as people are not uploading borderline illegal/NSFW things to it.

I wouldn't mind an entry itself, but even though I am usually flexible with stuff like this I really REALLY strongly suggest the entry to be fully researched before it's put up. If we can't provide enough SFW examples before we set out, the gallery is just going to outright spiral out of control.

Morality be damned. The question isn't who will let us, but who will stop us?

Seriously though, it's a large subculture and should be documented, it's not necessarily worse than any other specific thing we've documented.

Uhhhhhhh
I'm okay with SFW use the term, but uhhhhhh
I'm thinking this might steer a little close to porn bait for my liking, at least image gallery wise.
Might be a good idea to preemptively lock that gallery because, yeeeeaah.

Not too certain if we really need an article about it, but we've certainly had articles for much less notable things.

The gallery will of course be locked because obvious reasons. It's ok to upload some stuff to it that'll be used in the entry itself (graphs, save images, examples, screencaps perhaps), but just notify a mod of that and we can temporarily unlock it.

As for who'll write it, I nominate the obvious.

Loli confirmed for sole entry editor of lolis. No other mods allowed.

As long as the image gallery is locked, I see no problem. Lolicon is well known and widespread, I'm surprised there isn't already an entry.
What about Shota and Futa?

Hmmm, maybe i should do it? but i would have to look at other already existing subculture/fandom entries to take a study on how to do it right.

Then we have the gallery issues, pretty sure a lot of stuff will be NSFW.

Shota and loli? yes

but futa would have to be its own entry I think.

Yes, do all three with shota and loli in one entry and lock the galleries immediately. Shouldn't be too hard to control. The hardest part is writing the article itself which I'm sure a few of you guys could do.

Yes; I agree that Vazquez should write it.

I was thinking that the entry should be more like the Internet Paraphilia entry.

Like a list of the different types of genres in hentai.

  • Yuri
  • Yaoi
  • Lolicon
  • Bara

Futanari is more of a fetish than a genre itself.

And come on, there is lolicon stuff that is SFW enough for the site. For example.

↑ So just make it one Hentai general entry? Sounds good to me.

Does that also mean it will touch up on sub-memes like boku and quotes?

Edit: I guess those really aren't "sub-memes" per se, they just happen to use hentai material.

I have to disagree. Futanari is just as much a genre of hentai as the rest you mentioned. Lolicon can also be dismissed as just a fetish for young girls by that logic. Futanari is a prominent genre in hentai and is almost exclusively associated with hentai. Now if we were talking about bondage, anal, or feet, I would agree that its just a fetish that isn't exactly associated with hentai.
Another genre that should be added is tentacle erotica

This shouldn't be documented here.
Essentially; lolicon did not originate on the internet. Just because it is prominent on the internet does not mean it is an expression of internet culture.
Basically, all arguments in favor of lolicon being worthy of documentation apply to all genres of pornography. It also applies to the fandom of fancy cars or guns. Just being a thing people like doesn't make something a subculture.

tl;dr we're not tvtropes and we're not obligated to document everything we see. Popularity =/= subculture, and origin matters. Lolicon is not a web-based trend; it existed before the internet and migrating to the internet does not make it documentation worthy automatically.

@MDFification
I wonder how many confirmed entries should be deadpooled then by that logic.

it existed before the internet and migrating to the internet does not make it documentation worthy automatically.

And no one is saying that it deserves it simply because it migrated on the internet. Lolicon, Shotacon, yuri, yaoi, tentacle rape, and futanari are all well known outside of their respective fanbases and are widespread in the Hentai and anime subculture. Hentai is very much an expression of internet culture, and no, origin doesn't matter.

hentai entry should just cover them all unless there is a good reason it should have it's own entry (as in it becomes a meme on it's own). Google Lolicon meme and Hentai meme see the difference between the two.
