Hey there. A$AP Twisty and I chatted briefly on making a page for Aesthetics. Not the study of beauty and art, but the internet usage of that word that sprang up around the time Vaporwave music appeared. It seems to be centered around Tumblr as a point of origin, and I will post a few examples in this post. Twisty is rather backed up on making pages, and I just suck at research I also am just too lazy. I have lots of pictures and videos, but I don't know the spread that well. Any help would be appreciated!
There are many aesthetics that have appeared over the years but Vaporwave seems to be the most prominent. Vaporwave has themes in old software, Japanese popculture, and purposefully bad/discolored graphics, oftentimes with Grecian sculptures. There also seems to be influence from gangster culture in parts of Vaporwave.

Really this seems to be a really objective movement, where the aesthetic is different for everyone using this theme or others they may be framilar with, like seapunk, cyberpunk, which house, slime punk, and etc.
