Okay, YouTube Poop is pretty much a very widespread phenomenon, and there is some good and a lot of bad. But does it count as a meme?

Perhaps Doctor robotnik or Zelda CD-i could be considered individual meme's from that, but I wouldn't say that YouTube Poop itself is a meme, since the theme of each Poop varies from video to video.

Hmm, what are some common themes? Weegee, Mario in general, Over 9000…?

Tons of people make them -- it's kind of a YouTube version of video mashup things like TV Carnage. maybe a cousin of Anime Music Videos (!)

I guess that the content of YTP is made up of memes. The reason I brought it up was the fact that Poops can actually create new memes or at least spin the existing ones into a new level, just like You're the Man Now Dog, but in and of themselves the two aren't really memes. They are something else…

well i would consider youtube poop a meme, it is everywhere on youtube. and it does contain guidlines. a youtube poop must contain at least 2 of the following:
1: must have parts sped up/ slowed down
2: must have parts repeated in sucsession
3: must contain video/audio from the mario tv show or the zelda one

It sounds like what I would call an "Ultimeme". A combination of many memes that inevitably creates something extremely funny. Mama Luigi, Over 9000, Robotnik and CD-i are all memes on their own, but are only noticed when combined into a YTP. So, yes. I think YTP is a special kind of meme. Possibly the only on of its kind.
