I’ve been looking at YTP fads like “X with a layer added every second”…
And I’ve been wondering how this happens. I can’t understand what motivates a person to contribute to this fad. And then from reading the descriptions, I noticed that it seems to have just been a commonly agreed upon idea that this would be constructed simply to be a fad.
So where is this agreement happenening?
Influential Youtube Poopers
There are Youtube users that create Youtube Poop exclusively, and have large numbers of subscribers.
The two most influential users within the Youtube Poop community seem to be (or have been) WalrusGuy and Deepercut
Info on Walrus Guy
The Youchewpoop community, organized through http://youchewpoop.com/forums and explained on http://youchewpoop.com/news/faq/ seems to be the most influential hub within the larger Youtube Poop community.
Finding out traffic statistics on Youchewpoop is difficult. Quantcast, Alexa, and Compete all fail to return any site data.
I’m browsing the Youchewpoop forums, and I am currently the only person doing so. There are no registered users online and only one guest: me.
This makes me wonder how much of the interaction among Youtube Poopers involves disucssion and how much of it is just pure imitation.
YTP = Fail obsession?
Also, take a look at this graph
It seems like there is some kind of correlation between “Youtube Poop” and “epic fail.”
I wonder if that is just a coincidence or if there is an actual relationship.
