Could this possibly be an Internet meme? It's a rather recent trend. I see articles about them all the time and lots of Flickr photos.

Seems very close to MoneyFace and SleeveFace so, if there is a definite trend of photos like the one you posted, I think it's worth having its entry.

after further research I discovered that all these photos are from a single artist (Ben Heine). So definitely not a meme (for now) but if it ever catches on, we know the origin =)
