Ok, people just LIED to me about the Caipirinha dance I submitted. Idiots I talked to, said Caipirinha originated in 2003, BUT THE LIED!!!!! I thank Crhis Menning for Pointing that out (Internet High Five) So, in other words. have any of you ever been lied to about meme’s or anyother internet things?

I feel for you. It always sucks to report information and find out later that you were wrong. That’s why we stress that for every statement that you make in a meme entry, provide a link to a source that backs up your statement. This way, the facts can either be verified or corrected.

Don’t feel too bad about it. I make my mistakes as well. For those of you who saw Ellie’s “Best Bond Gadgets” Rocketboom Tech episode, it’s my fault that she said the microchips were in Quantum of Solace and not Casino Royale. I had gotten so caught up wth researching all of the other facts about the tech in the films that I overlooked something very basic, and man did we hear about it!

This wasn’t really a case of getting lied to, but it was my own error that caused the viewers to think we were lying to them! I’m still pretty embarassed about screwing that one up.

I don’t think this is a matter of “lie” to begin with.
If you choose to trust what someone tells you without trying to confirm it yourself via any media or anything valuable you can find, then, it’s your mistake.
