Can Smugleaf be confirmed already!?

An article is not solely confirmed based on the number of instances there are of the meme. An article needs to be completely filled out with proper information and evaluated by at least two Community Managers/Entry Moderators before it can be confirmed.

Yatta's six primary concepts list out what the community members try to look for in an article before saying that it can be rightfully confirmed:

1) Viral Spread: search results, social media mentions, forum posts, route of spread.
2) Point of Origin: Find out where the meme first appeared and provide proof that it spread beyond its original subculture.
3) Derivatives/instances: Existing volume of spoofs, mashups, remixes, parodies, recontextualizations, and re-enactments. Is it mutating?
4) Appearance in Memetic Hubs: Websites and communities that have been made famous for spreading and culturing memes.
5) Organic / Forced Memes: Was the meme spread peer to peer or was it astroturfed? Even astroturfed phenomena can become memes.
6) Spin-offs / Sub-memes (Optional): Many memes spawn entire trees of sub-memes.

Like the others said, Smugleaf will eventually confirmed so long as the article is given these needed information.

Try quoting the Kotaku article instead of expecting readers to open the hyperlink (the Kotaky page is all messed up by the way, so that's another reason why you shouldn't rely on it). What for instance was the first smuglead meme pic, and who made it – I read that it was the "U Mad?" pic of smugleaf, but havent confimed it.

Then there's the "impact" section – you've described smugleaf, not his actual impact. Also, whats the actual significance of another mudkip? Is there a catch phrase like "I herd j00 likes smugleaf"? What's so great about being in legendary tier of memegenerator anyways? You've also stated "many fans have proclaimed" without providing any evidence to your claim.

You could also make the images more uniform in size by adding width="400" in the < > doobie, so that its (img src=" " width="400"). There's a few other things that need to be tidied up – it's just not visually appealing.

There's more, but hopefully you get the point – if you want confirmation, try looking at stuff that has been confirmed and see what yours doesn't have. Also, note that in most instances it takes more than 2 months for something to be confirmed. Then, if you've done that and you still think it should be confirmed, try looking through the submissions page and see what else needs to be confirmed – suprise buttsex for instance, which was made a year ago and doesn't need much work at all, is yet to be confirmed.

Do you really think smugleaf is more important than suprise buttsex? Hint: the "Dinner for Schmucks" ad that KYM is currently showing is all about suprise buttsex, and nothing to do with smugleaf.
