I've been seeing this phrase often in YouTube comments. Especially on MW2 videos that show non-legitimate gameplay, like this one:

from what i can tell its only used by fans of his vids

Really, this is like saying "lol" is a meme. Fake and gay is merely an expression, it doesn't quite have the memetic mutation needed to classify it as a meme.

As long as you can find a good origin, track some examples of the spread, and somehow represent how prevalent it is, then yeah, "fake and gay" and "missed the like button" could be deserving of meme entries.

i definitely think that its a meme. its quoting something not literally meaning to say that you think something is fake or gay

I have a ton on one of my videos that's just a short cg sequence that's related to an old tabletop series from the 90s and yet half of the comments are "fake and gay" for some reason.

I bet if you searcjed as hard as possible, you'd find some guy claiming that it was him and his mates who created Fake and Gay while on a business trip to Bangkok, as a way of poking fun at the world.
