The term "OMG", could it possibly be an Internet Speak meme? The origin is very spotty, but I'm almost certain this originated on the Internet.
(Note: I realize this has been submitted and deadpooled, but I am attempting to make an entry that is not a joke)

Problems:
"Oh my god" is nothing new. Its been used way before the internet (in other media or in conversations), and the way it is used on the internet is more or less the same.

Support:
OMG is the precursor and the theme of many memes.

In my opinion, its worth documenting. But don't be too hopeful that it'll get confirmed. Or even stay in submissions.

^I already noted ZOMG (Sorry Sweatie, I ninja'd you).

I added any info at the top of my head, and edited it to make it look/sound better.

However, I haven't done any research. I apologize for that- I have a few entries on my plate, and will definitely get around to OMG.

Definitely a meme, cos it's a practice.

The main problem I see here is that if OMG is a meme, LOL is a meme, and so on.

SOLUTION: Make a blanket entry for Memetic Acronyms.

But lol is a meme..

If you look at the entry, you guys will see that I made a giant rant in the comments.

I'm just putting that out there… so my efforts won't have gone to waste…
