ok so ya know how the deadpool list is full of videos people claim to be memes?

why dont you make a "video" section where people can post interesting videos INSTEAD OF POSTING IN MEMES?

another option:
before entering a meme you could have a "do you agree to these terms?" thingy.
it would say "pressing 'ok' means that you are fully aware of what a 'meme' is"
possibly a little quiz.

also:
when a new account is made you could have a lttle "definition of a meme" pop up or article for them to read before setting up the rest of the account.

these are just a few ideas that i got…

We may chronicle viral videos, but not random ones.
And I agree with Emerelds.

@rage guy: Good idea although we'll need a solution that works across categories be they viral videos, image macros, or anything else.

So far we've decided that we're going to create a standard template for submitting entries, a stickied I'm 12 and What Is This? thread and a FAQ. While I don't think we'll have a quiz, we do need to figure out our method for indoctrinating new researchers into the 'institute'.

Likewise, there's talk about promoting more people to the rank of MemeDB admin, but Chris, Brad, Jamie, Blubber, & I need to go through and look at the quality of everyone's contributions first.
