I wanted to post this question on my diy forum, but it's down today for some reason..
Does anyone know if there is a way to determine the power rating of a resistor mathematically?
Or is it just something that must be listed on the packaging? I have a resistor that doesn't give a power rating; just a resistance. 50k. I don't have any other data. except for the voltage and amperage I want to run through it.
